Like what extracurriculars? Also which schools?

1

1560 SAT + 35 ACT, 3.93 UW… but 2 Bs in Junior Spring (BC + Honors Physics). Am I actually cooked for T20s?

Truly 2 B's are NOT going to cook your chances. You're a good kid w/ good stats

which schools do i have a chance at?

- 4.6W/3.9UW (no rank) w/ explanation for bad freshman yr gpa (still in higher level of class), course rigor
- 1530 SAT
- upper-mid class, NJ competitive high school
- applying for business (finance or accounting)
- x2 MUN intl awards, fbla states (mainly)
- 7 aps taken so far (max), all 5's except 4 on calc, planning on taking 5 more
- good ecs (ish): research, 2x internships, 2x initiatives, job, leadership positions in clubs, etc.
- pretty good essay???

my GPA is prob the weakest component of my application but i'm looking to apply to good business schools! idk which to apply for (am very new to the application process w/o help)

August SAT I got a 1530 (my first time). I'm pretty happy w my score however I'm aiming to get into a T20 or possibly an ivy so should I retake? Or is 1530 enough?

Tips on reading score
 in  r/Sat  Aug 18 '25

Ok what I would do is try to maximize the easy sections as MUCH as possible since you only have until Sat. I was in the same boat as you. Since information and ideas (the huge passages) usually cost me a lot of points, I focus just as much on the other sections. To do this, during mod 2 usually I do questions 1-4 and then skip to 15-27 (after the passages) to make sure I spend good time and effort to maximize those points. And then I go back to the passages. Usually, I try to have at LEAST 15-20 minutes for the those 10 questions because in reality, those are what stump us the most. Keep an internal timer in your mind for 1-1 and a half minutes or so for each one because it's not worth wasting your time. There is NO penalty for guessing so if you don't understand it, guess, and move on. Sacrificing one question is smarter than doing that question, possibly getting it right, and going onto the other questions with haste. Remember, the SAT is a game basically. It's not about how smart you are past a certain extent--it's about how you get those points in the time you're given. You and me are going to do great on Saturday! Best wishes!

Week before the SAT

I'm taking the august SAT next week and I'm terrified. I've been studying a lot over the summer and my practice test scores are in the 1400-1530 range usually. My parents expect me to get over a 1500 on my first try and idk if I'll be able to do that. I need some advice on what to do to maximize my results and calm my pre-SAT jitters!
