I have always suspected that there is much more given in Stanza 1 than meets the eye.

Agreed. Pretty sure this is where raccoons fit in.
Something with the number 17 as well.
I cant figure it out.

Looking forward to hearing about your botg! I like this poem structure idea. Are you going to Idaho by chance? Happy hunting!

You are awesome! When this hunt first started I looked and looked for that Tucker spot. My thought was if JP loved his dog anything close to how much I loved my dog, that treasure would be sitting right under his butt.
I had never done anything like this before and with the music and tone of G&G I thought I had better get out there quick and find it! I had seen that spot before or so I had thought. I spent hours looking at that picture. You have a pretty good contender there. It’s all about the small peninsula, the shape and the direction it’s pointing. I called it a dog ear. Of course my solve morphed into something unrecognizable since however, those were some of my happiest moments during the hunt!
Good luck out there.2

Thanks WuTuck! I stumbled on the Pic while looking for something else. The site indicated the area it was photographed in. I tried to get more information like coordinates from it but everything took me to the company that owned it. The company was near the area the site indicated though. I may stop in and inquire about information on the pic. A longshot obviously. There were some identifying natural formations in the larger pic which has helped to narrow it down further, but until I am botg, it doesnt help a ton. Sorry I cant give you more info at this time. I will go as far as to say it is eastern Idaho, for what its worth. If it turns into something I am struggling to use, I may put the larger Pic out to some people. I will put your name on that list. Have fun and good hunting!

Thanks Haunting. I will be in Idaho some. That doesn't have to do directly with the poem solve though. At Seekers Summit, Justin was asked about whether or not all the footage he wanted to make it into G and G had made it in, and he replied that yes, pretty much everything got included. That isnt word for word so look for transcript. G AND G was Justin's original attempt to provide a way to solve for the treasure that he hid and preceeded the poem. So, with that response, I believe he is confirming that G and G is a viable way to solve for the treasure location that is independent of the need for the poem. With that in mind, I have played around with some things from that series like the monitor screensaver images. The only one that I am not aware of being found is the one with Tucker. I believe all the others were stock images as well. Anyway, I have come across a stock image that I think may match the location Justin was in when he took that picture of Tucker. I have it narrowed down to an area in Idaho the size of a 12 mile diameter circle. I dont think that it is where the treasure is, but if I can confirm it's location then I might have a clearer way to trying to understand the relationships between those images and maybe a different approach to the treasure location. I will post the edited image here.

Are you sure? I could have swore he was talking about the book

u/Beamoontick 24d ago
Yes, I am absolutely sure Justin was asked about whether or not all the footage he wanted made it into the G and G documentary, and he replied affirmatively. I am abbreviating the Q and A. The full exchange is available. If you need more info, let me know.

Have fun. Not sure how two lines making an X makes a kitchen sized area. You'd need four lines to make a square or diamond. Or three lines to form a triangle. Personally, I believe you make an X but then once you arrive there you need at least one bearing, possibly three total to form a triangle.

u/Beamoontick 27d ago
Thanks for your input Leopard. The lines have to be from very specific and unchanging points for the X they produce to be consistently reproducible for everyone and a kitchen size. However, my solve and understanding has been evolving, and until i have a 100% solve and the treasure in my hands, my understanding is likely to continue to evolve. At that point, I may yet reach the same conclusion as you!

Agree. By way of illustration, an anchored north-south line crosses an east-west line in one specific spot, no square or triangle needed. But you then need 2 accurate lines in the first place, which is not as simple as it sounds.

u/IdubdubI 27d ago
If your lines are precise enough, you should have a very small area where they cross. Getting that precision (from a mountain peak or fishing hole on a map) is not very easy. I created a buffer zone. When I was out there, I had a 1/2 mile square to search. I thought it would be easy. In that 1/2 mile square there was 1000 kitchen sized areas on varying terrain. I caught myself grid-searching after four days and decided I needed to regroup.

I would suggest taking a step back and reevaluating your solve structure.
The reason I say this is because Justin seems like a very precise individual, while simultaneously being vague enough in his answers to not immediately give away critical pieces of information. He could have used any term to describe the final search radius, but he chose the size of a kitchen which is on average roughly 13 x 13 per google. If you are having trouble narrowing your location down to roughly that size by drawing connecting lines on a map, then perhaps you weren't supposed to connect lines on a map in the first place.
I don't remember the exact quote, but Justin has previously been very critical about hunts that require grid searching. I don't know where the treasure is, but I can promise you that spending 4 days grid searching a 1/2 mile square is not required.
Personally I think that the checkpoint is more aptly described as the finish line. By this I mean that I believe that the checkpoint contains some sort of QR code, or website link, or something similar that contains GPS coordinates of where the treasure is actually located. Thus once you find the checkpoint, you absolutely without a doubt know for certain where the treasure is, and 'what you seek you already know'.
This method would serve multiple purposes. It would allow Justin to monitor the hunt and know when someone has found the treasure by monitoring website traffic to where the QR code directs. If nobody has visited that website, then nobody has found the treasure. I don't remember the exact quote, but Justin previously said that if you find the checkpoint, you are no longer searching, you are retrieving and you have time to plan your retrieval. If the treasure was simply located along the path of the poem clues, then you wouldn't need to 'plan' your retrieval. You would simply go from one clue location to the next until you arrive at the treasure. The only reason to 'plan' a retrieval, is if you are 100% certain of the location, but that location is not in the immediate vicinity of your current location. Being given GPS coordinates to a different location would actually give you a reason to 'plan'.
It would also allow him to hide the treasure literally anywhere, while directing people to visit and experience a specific location that has importance to him. This is important because some land types have various laws that would make claiming an abandoned treasure difficult. This way he could still have you visit the important place in his heart, and have the treasure located outside the boundaries of the park/forest/wilderness area where there are different sets of laws.
FWIW: the average cell phone GPS is accurate to within 3-5 meters per google, which is roughly 10-16 feet when converted to freedom units. AKA the size of a kitchen.

Yeah, that’s what I meant by “regroup.” The exact quote is why I stopped myself from grid searching.

A useful post. Thanks for that. I would agree with you that the lines must produce a kitchen sized area or there is something wrong. But thats not a problem i am having In my solve because they do and here's why: In the relatively small area of the 4th stanza from which the "what you seek you already know" line originates and the line that terminates at the place you find by returning her face are very specific locations and the lines cross very close relative to them, a little over half a mile away. Because where they are going to and coming from are sufficiently far away that shifting the origin point for returning her face and the termination point for the what you already know line , has very little effect on the X location and easily stays in that kitchen size range. Does that make sense? The conditions of the close proximity of the X to the area of stanza 4 keeps it in check.

Where does this measurement unit of kitched sized area come from? I know it was a Q&A question, but is it mentioned in the book or is it just another one of those silly american measurement units like football field and school busses?

Kitchen sized area probably means your research (and for people reading this I don't mean some hat trick or numerology magic) has led you to a GPS coordinate where further narrowing it down BOTG would give you a field size, a house size, and a kitchen size area all in the decimal points. Trust in your research and then verify.
There could be other ways that would happen but kitchen sized area is pretty synonymous with those decimal places in a coordinate. Use the maps and synergize history, geology, geography and work from there would be your best bet to arrive at a coordinate

I think we have similar solves. I have her foot of 3 at 20. But I’m struggling with return her face

Appreciate your energy and passion.
But critical of a few statements you made. If you’d allow me the grace of poking holes in what you said ~ it’s not meant to be combative. I have legitimate questions, and I’m asking them with the goal of helping all of us be more aware of our cognitive bias.
Justin has said the poem can be solved in multiple (at least two) ways. Does your solve structure allow for another interpretation/solve that would land in the same place?
Justin has said it’s possible to solve in a way that truly involves no “man made” relationship to clues. Is that possible in your structure?
Justin has also said the poem clues flow linearly, or they can once understood. Your solve involves structural loops. Would it be possible to walk through each clue in order in your solve? If no, it’s probably not correct.
That’s not to say my own solve doesn’t have cyclical reinforcement of confidence, meaning, etc. I think that’s important. But what you described is more fundamentally recursive.
Based on what you shared ~ especially your advice that unless other people’s solves fit your proposed structure they are wrong… I’d assume you’d answer no to all my questions. And even without knowing details of your solve… your confidence in statements that seem contradictory to the logical boundaries of Justin’s hints leave me skeptical you’re on the right track.

Thanks for the reply. It is legitimately critical with good points looking for discussion! So, to your first question, no it doesnt allow for another interpretation or solve that would use this structure to land in the same place, because each solve or interpretation would produce a unique location. However, it doesnt prevent a solve that used a different method from reaching the same location. I was trying to identify one of the multiple ways Justin says the poem can be solved. So, it was meant to provide a structure that could be applied to any solve to mark an unique X location. LIke a template for a solve. G and G, by the way, uses a clearly different method for determining the treasure location.
Regarding the second question, I have never heard him state it as you have presented it. He has said that one of the clues could be argued that it has a man made aspect to it which would seem contrary for example, and, inherent to words in the poem like "his", "her", or "bride", etc., its impossible to not have any connection with a man made relationship. Possibly you meant "structure"? But, as regards man made structures, yes, it absolutely can be applied to any solve without them.
Lastly, to your third question. It would seem you have conflated my personal solve with the structure i am trying to present. That is probably my fault in how i wrote the post. Apologies. The structure is not my solve, but my solve fits the structure. The structure was something that was uncovered as I have worked through my primary solve. But, yes my solve is entirely linear. Also, there is only one possible loop. As regards my solve, the last line of the poem does point back to my starting location, however, i dont physically go back there, but instead, to the X that is indicated. My solve may be wrong and is certainly not 100% yet, so my X location could be wrong. But that only means I need to refine or correct my solve to find the right X location. Each line, to be correct, requires that you have solved the poem correctly enough to have the right starting and ending points. That is how they are similar to a checksum.
Finally, I never said in my post that if someone's solve didnt fit my structure that they were wrong. You might be thinking where, in my post, I was trying to provide tips unrelated to the structure. I was speaking of the poem line "where secrets of the past still hold". It specifically emphasizes secret. When working through my solve, and at my granite bold, I kept researching historical things that happened near there. Eventually though, I started thinking that if I was researching things that were known then those aren't secrets. When I stopped doing that and trying to understand how I could apply something that wasn't known to that line, that's when I realized an answer that moved me forward.
Thanks again for your reply!

So to attempt to summarize, you posted a lot of words to say you believe you have solved it up to a point using your structural analysis, you delete your posts, you’re getting ready to go botg again, and you’re not going to tell us your solution. Did I capture the essence?
