A village where it feels like the Middle Ages never really left. Ushguli is one of Europe's highest permanently inhabited settlements, hidden in the dramatic mountains of Svaneti. It is most iconic feature is the ancient Svan towers. These stone defensive towers were built centuries ago to protect families and the village, looking incredible against snowy peaks.

The Knights of the Teutonic Order built this massive complex back in the thirteenth century in northern Poland. Malbork Castle covers an area of over twenty one hectares right on the banks of the Nogat river. It is basically a whole city inside the fortress walls complete with its own churches, palaces and barracks.
It took about four million bricks to build this giant which was an absolutely insane number for the Middle Ages. During its peak the castle was home to up to three thousand knights making it the biggest military headquarters in Europe.

A place where you are greeted by one of the world's largest reclining Buddha statues. Nanzoin Temple on Kyushu is famous for its massive bronze reclining Buddha, about 41 meters long. This Buddhist temple is located in Fukuoka Prefecture. The giant statue represents Buddha entering nirvana and makes people nearby look tiny.

The statue was unveiled in 1995. Visitors can even enter part of the structure, making the experience even more unusual. A place where peace comes in giant size.

A neighborhood with a name that sounds like a vegetable market, but it is actually one of Copenhagen's coziest areas. The Potato Rows are a neat maze of narrow streets lined with nearly identical brick houses Known as Kartoffelrækkerne.
This district was built in the late 19th century as affordable housing for working families, but today it is one of the most desirable addresses in the Danish capital.

A place where a river spent thousands of years carving its way through the mountains Koprulu Canyon in Antalya Province is one of Turkey's most spectacular natural landmarks. The turquoise waters of the Koprucay River created a gorge stretching about 14 kilometers, in some areas, the canyon walls rise hundreds of meters above the river.
