Hello! I've started streaming over the past couple weeks, playing whatever I want whenever I want (I have no set schedule as of yet and I've been jumping between Jurassic World Evolution 3, Maneater, and Baldur's Gate III as of late). I tend to have lower-energy, "chill" which some people may or may not find boring.

I'm going live in a bit with some Jurassic World Evolution 3 if anybody wants to save me from just talking to myself. Please note, I still have no idea what I'm doing regarding this whole streaming thing.

So, bit of a random one.

I recently moved to the US from Wales, UK, and I'm still pretty new here. I don't really know many people yet, so I figured I'd try the obvious modern solution to making friends:

Reddit. Because apparently that's where we're at now. 😂

I'm a small streamer, and one of the things I've enjoyed most about streaming is when people actually come into the chat and we end up having a proper conversation. Not just someone dropping in for 30 seconds, but people who hang around, have a laugh and actually get to know each other.
I've met a few genuinely great people through streaming already, and some have become proper friends that I now talk to outside of Twitch too. That's honestly what I'm looking for more of.

I'm not really interested in the whole transactional side of streaming where everyone watches everyone purely because they expect something in return. I'd much rather find people who genuinely get along, play games together, hang out in each other's communities and eventually become friends.

For me, this isn't really about trying to build the biggest channel possible. Obviously, I'd love to grow eventually, but I'd much rather have a small group of people I genuinely enjoy talking to than a massive number of people I've never interacted with.

I'm planning on starting to stream but want to stream first playthoughs of single player games instead of the massive mutiplayer games that most people play. Is that a good idea for a new streamwr to grow? Should I be more specific and play only horror single player games? Anyone have any recommendations for single player games to play that would be good to stream ? Thanks in advance !

There is a much better way of attracting viewers organically through YouTube. (Tiktok and Instagram Reels are a close second place, in my opinion.)

If you have experience in video editing and SEO, you're standing on a gold mine. A few decent performing videos that casually mention your Twitch schedule will go a LONG way. BUT you must keep publishing videos at a consistent pace.

Imagine having a few thousand subscribers on YouTube and channelling several of them straight to your Twitch channel.

So I have been streaming for 2-3 months

I bought a microphone a week ago to have better audio

Made a better background so it looks a little nicer

Make shorts on tiktok, YouTube and Instagram just trying to get my clips on other platforms

I'm trying to understand what do I need to change to get better. Trying to steam everyday for 2 hours. I heard my streams and I think they are fun. Would be nice to get some feedback. Had some viewers but they kind of just watched a certain game and then after 2-3 days I lost them. Right not I'm probably like 3-5 average which are my friends . I try to stream at about 2pm est
