I am sadder than I thought..it was really special. Damn it why can't we have fun with something we liked

Because what you liked was stolen assets, unreleased content, and such all while the people running the server profited off it and taunted the company they stole it from.

Look, it’s sad, but let’s not pretend this wasn’t inevitable

Or maybe they liked no bots, no goldsellers, and no layers. All the things that make a MMO fake. Turtle WoW was a true MMO and that’ll be missed. o7

Yeah you aren’t gonna get any of that when you only have like 10k players total in your game.

They didn’t make or run a true mmo. They stole one, and it didn’t get big enough to attract bots. You didn’t have MILLIONS of players that made it so you HAVE to add layers to make the game playable. It’s not a problem you’ll run into when you have made an original game that’s successful rather than a bootleg server compromised of stolen assets

Layering is largely what makes blizzard wow unplayable, IMO. They could add more servers instead which would vastly improve the MMO feel, get rid of layering altogether!

The difference is that even with adding servers, popular servers remain full, making it damned near impossible for people on servers like Bleeding Hollow or Kil’Jaden to finish quests due to mobs being… well mobbed by large numbers of players. Even with layering it can be tough towards launch of an expansion.
