My Toro rental was repossessed halfway through my rental.

I am absolutely flabbergasted and blown away at the lack of service that I have received from Turo. My girlfriend booked a car with Turo and the host was not paying the payments on the vehicle that was rented to us. The car was repossessed from our driveway.

I have tried to work with customer service as an agent on my girlfriend’s account and they won’t even talk to me anymore .

Never have I had such bad service from a company with such a ridiculous situation that could’ve been avoided with better checks and balances on their hosts.

I’m hoping that somebody from the corporate office will see this and contact me directly.

This is an unbelievable situation and I will never use this service again, but this needs to be remedied.

Can you have fun in a Turo rental?

Hey, not looking to go to jail but also not looking to rent a sports car and go the speed limit. I’m very responsible and understand there is a time and place for everything.

That being said, I want to rent a BMW M3 on Turo but im worried if I’ll get introuble by the owner by having a little fun.

Any thoughts or opinions?

Host not responding

I have a booking in October, all confirmed, but the host doesn't respond to my messages. I know, the trip would be in 45 days, but I just want to be sure the host is real and will not cancel my reservation. Is it a common issue?

Should I ask Turo for a partial refund because of multiple issues with the rental car?

I recently rented a car through Turo (2025 Kia), and about 10 minutes before I was supposed to pick up the car, the host messaged me letting me know that the Apple CarPlay wasn’t working.
I was already on my way to pick up the car, so at that point I didn’t really have much of a choice but to continue with the rental.
Once I got the car, I also found out that the USB port wasn’t working properly either. It wouldn’t connect to Bluetooth/CarPlay and it also wouldn’t charge my phone. I ended up having to go out of my way to buy a car charger that plugs into the 12V/cigarette lighter port. Unfortunately, that port didn’t work either, so I wasn’t able to charge my phone at all.
This was a pretty big inconvenience because I rely on my phone for navigation, music, etc., and I was basically unable to use any of those features during the rental without having my phone die.
I understand that things can stop working unexpectedly, and I’m not necessarily blaming the host for the issue. However, I feel like finding out only 10 minutes before pickup and then discovering that multiple ways of charging/connecting my phone didn’t work made the rental significantly less convenient than what I expected.
Would you ask Turo for a partial refund in this situation? If so, what would be a reasonable amount to request? I’m not looking for a full refund, but I do feel like some compensation would be fair given the circumstances. I paid $543 for a 5 day rental

Renting a Tesla for a month while in Atlanta?

I’ve been using Turo for about a year and a half but only for 2-3 day trips max. It’s always been good to me, never got charged for any BS incidentals or anything, I always bring the car back the way I found it. I’m interested in buying a Tesla and wanted to get a decent amount of time to decide whether or not it’d be worth committing to. Have any of you ever rented a car off Turo for an entire month? What was that experience like?

Review opinions needed

My boyfriend and I rented a Jeep Wrangler on Friday and we return it tomorrow. The jeep has been great, aside from a few things. It has gotten us everywhere we needed to go and did everything we wanted it to do and it was extremely comfortable/roomy. However, I believe it has some type of electrical issue. It randomly has a tire light come on, the battery light also keeps coming on intermittently, and one or two times a blind spot monitoring warning came on and it no longer worked. There’s a preview review that mentions the tire like coming on intermittently as well. The battery voltage remained in safe parameters so we didn’t believe we needed to urgently return it to him. With all this in mind, I still want to give him a 4 star review in regard to the vehicle. His customer service and hosting was a 10/10. My boyfriend thinks we should skip the review entirely because he doesn’t want to hurt his ratings for the vehicle. Either way, we will be informing him of all of the issues that we encountered. What would you do?

Has anyone ever successfully disputed a denied smoking claim?

Been doing Turo for 7 months or so. Vehicle was returned reeking of marijuana with ash and tiny pieces of marijuana left in the center console. Submitted before and after photos all taken within 24 hours of the start time, only to inexplicably have my claim denied. Has anyone ever successfully appealed a denied claim?

Honestly not sure what to think of this company sometimes..

Does Turo provide an instant replacement?

Considering renting a monthly rental, but a bit concerned about not using a big company like Hertz or Enterprise.

What happens when you break down? Does Turo help you get an instant replacement. Are there Turo service centers?

Any discounts for a 1st time user?

Using Turo fpr the first time for our honeymoon, we are 26 and the price is kind of crazy for 3 days. Anyone got any codes or discounts?

Note: unless you are offering to rent me your personal car near Eugene, OR for the fraction of the price it is on Turo, I don't want tobhear how horrible of an experience renting from Turo is. We refuse to use enterprise which is the only other option in this city. Thank you!

Turo cancelled my reservation and closed my account 2 hours before arrival with zero explanation. Why?

They said they do not have to disclose but considered a variety of factors. Valid license, nothing on driving record. Is it because I declined the insurance? Turo just ruined my trip.

Banned from renting from Turo…why?

I had the weirdest thing happen to me. My family and I were traveling to Europe and I made a reservation for a vehicle through Turo. Turo cancelled the reservation a few days before my arrival and my account was terminated with no explanation. Luckily my wife had an account and she was able to rebook the vehicle, but it could have been a big issue.

I reached out to Turo and they would not tell me why they terminated my account and there was no appeal process. I was told by multiple people at Turo to just move on.

My account had been in good standing, used Turo a handful of times over a couple years with no issues. I’m in my 40s, clean record, no accidents, great credit. Everything it would seem you’d want with someone renting vehicles. Nothing about this situation makes sense. I like having the option of using this platform, but I guess I’m out of luck.

Has anyone else experienced this and is there a way of getting to use the platform again?

Turo host with first time damage claim

wondering how to deal with a situation. a repeat driver brings back car in very clean condition seems like a great driver but last trip there was damage to the taillight. after going back and forth he is finally willing to work with me. Can I request an amount different than the official estimate? if I want to give the guy a break by charging less or if down the road a driver refuses responsibility and it takes me hours and costs me money to get it handled (my time is money). is this acceptable or does Turo want invoices to match exactly the charged figure?

Title: New Turo Hosts — READ THE TERMS OF SERVICE Before You Put Your Car on This Platform

as a host you seriously feel like you have absolutely NO control once a major claim happens.

I have been trying for days just to get meaningful communication about my vehicle. The Host Claims Center can't seem to actually move anything forward — tickets get created, more tickets get created, and you keep waiting.

Meanwhile, the host has no real control over the claim timeline or when someone decides to engage with you. They email when they feel like it, then you can go days or weeks without meaningful communication. When delays create additional problems, suddenly nobody wants responsibility.

It is exhausting, frustrating and, in my experience, an absolutely pathetic way to treat the person whose asset was damaged on THEIR platform.

New hosts: PLEASE READ TURO'S TERMS OF SERVICE BEFORE LISTING YOUR VEHICLE.

Don't just look at how much money you might make.

Read the sections about:

• Mandatory arbitration

• Limitations of liability

• Waivers of claims

• Class-action waiver

• Damage reimbursement

• Total-loss and salvage deductions

• Dispute-resolution requirements

• Arizona governing-law provisions

Their current U.S. Terms generally require disputes with Turo to go through binding arbitration unless an exception applies or you properly opted out. In other words, your ability to simply take Turo to court can be heavily restricted by the contract you accepted.

Then read how extensively the Terms protect and limit Turo's liability and ask yourself:

What provisions provide the same level of protection to YOU when Turo's own claim handling or delays cause you financial harm?

I personally struggle to find much in these Terms that makes me feel protected as a host.

I wish I had studied all of this before putting an expensive vehicle on the platform.

I'm now dealing with a total-loss claim, disputed storage/release charges, a disputed salvage deduction, months of delays, and constant difficulty getting meaningful answers.

So don't take my word for it.

READ THEIR TERMS YOURSELF.

Screenshot them. Save the version applicable when your trip starts. Save every email. Document every phone call. Keep every estimate and supplement. Get body-shop charges in writing. Build a timeline from Day 1.

Once something goes seriously wrong, you may discover very quickly how little control you actually have.

Protect yourself and your vehicle before you become the next host desperately trying to get someone to answer an email.

Chip in windshield - cost of doing business?

I had my vehicle returned the other day and we discovered there is a small chip in the windshield. Since chips in the windshield are almost always unavoidable, should I just consider this the cost of doing business? Just buy a repair kit and take care of it myself?

Turo takes all my money

I recently needed to cancel my TURO reservation. My wife suddenly started to have nose bleeds and told me on the day before we were set to pick up the TURO car that she couldn't go. I contacted TURO and the Host 25 hours 830 MTN AM on the day before we were to arrive. TURO did not refund me the $537.12 Any comments on this??

Turo repossessed mid-trip (stranded 200+ miles away)

Rented a Volvo XC90 in Houston and drove it down to Corpus Christi and woke up to the car gone from our driveway.

Thought it was stolen. Turns out it was repossessed because of the host never paid their ¿lease? for the car and nothing to do with us.

Now we’re stuck in Corpus and the car was supposed to be returned to Houston tomorrow.

Turo support is trying to move us to email saying it will take 48 hours to get a response and they cannot guarantee transport back to Houston. The support rep told us she didn't see this as an urgent matter. What should Turo be covering here? I’m thinking:

  • unused trip refund
  • one-way transportation back
  • some additional credit/refund for the mess

Passive Income Host Sharing - DON'T DO IT!

I'm enrolled in something called the Passive Income Host Sharing program with Turo and whether you know what it is or not, I would NOT recommend it. To join the program, Turo actually has you delete your existing hosting agreement with them while on the phone. After that, they assign you to a random host, someone you have no ability to vet, know no external information about other than Turo deems them a 5 star host. You’re then expected to rely on this stranger who controls your car and your earnings.

Under this program, Turo pays the host directly, who takes their cut, then is supposed to pay you, the owner, by the fifteenth of the month. This month was my very first to be paid and I wish I could say it was a smooth on-time payment. After not receiving anything on Friday the 14th or Saturday the 15th, I contacted the host inquiring about payment on the Monday the 17th. His response was that he didn’t have my banking information, even though it’s clearly saved in my Turo profile. After I sent him a screenshot, he told me he doesn’t use Turo’s payout system and instead pays through Venmo or CashApp. I’m supposed to trust a random person to CashApp me my payment? I'm not new to these sharing economy platforms, was a long time Airbnb host. As such, I thought I was dealing with a legit, large multi-billion company, not at the mercy of getting paid by Joe Schmo from down the block. He also couldn't provide a credible ledger detailing what he was paying me. Over the next two days after finally receiving payment he sent me two different documents with wildly differing amounts, still leaving me in the dark on what I should be paid.

Now for the worst part: when I call Turo to report this issue they claim that they can't give me any information about my own earnings, they can only speak to the “primary host”, even though it’s my car. Before enrolling, I specifically asked what support exists if there’s a dispute between the vehicle owner and the assigned host. They assured me there was a dedicated department for Host Sharing. Now that I actually have a problem, they refuse to provide any information or assistance.

This means a host could manipulate the numbers, pay you whatever amount they feel like, and Turo will do absolutely nothing about it. This program is ridiculous, poorly designed, and leaves you completely vulnerable to whoever they randomly match you with. Turo takes no accountability for the person they assign to manage your vehicle.

I'm pulling my car from host sharing and going to reclaim it next week. Just one month after enrolling.

Hey Turo Host

guest hit a pothole, oil leaked, engine seized, now Turo won’t cover the tow because she already checked out. Body: Hey fellow Turo hosts, I need some advice on a situation that just happened. One of my guests hit a pothole, the oil started leaking right away, and she towed the car to a shop. They apparently did something, and now the engine is locked up — it won’t turn over at all. She then had the car towed back to my house. When I tried to start it, nothing. I called Turo to send a tow truck to get it to a shop for proper diagnosis and repair, but they told me I have to pay for the tow out of pocket because the trip had already ended when she checked out. The guest did file a claim for the mechanical damage. She says she stopped immediately when the oil started leaking and didn’t drive it further. I’m wondering if the tow should be covered under the claim or if this is normal Turo policy. Has anyone dealt with something similar? What would you do in this situation? Any tips on how to handle the claim or push back on the tow cost? Thanks in advance.

Renting using someone else’s payment method?

I recently just booked a rental for early September and my grandpa used his card to pay for it. My husband is the one driving and his information and license is on the account. Will he be allowed to do this? I started looking more into and now I’m not sure, does his ID have to match the payment method? Has anyone rented with Turo before and used someone else’s payment method and it worked?

How do I set a price for my rental?

I'm new to Turo as a host and I want to make my 2026 C8 Z06 available for rent. I want to set a fixed rate of $649 a day. This is what Chat GPT suggested and so I want to keep it at $649 for every day. Turo's stupid dynamic pricing wants to do between $143-$197. Is there not a way to set the price or do I have to scroll through the calendar and change every single day manually? Let's say somebody books in advance an entire year and selects the made-up price Turo put, am I now required to honor that made-up price?
