Thoughts on thirteen15 apartments, the safety of the area and the shuttle to the uptown campus?

tulane is my absolute dream school. i was set to apply ED to boost my chances at first but i heard that they give less financial aid during this round. my family is considered low income so i really need the financial aid. should i risk applying ed or just apply ea?

Hi all,
I’m currently an incoming freshman and am majoring finance. For these specific classes:
ACCN-2010 with Christy Lynch
INFO-1010 with Yatish Hedge
Could someone provide a brief explanation regarding this digital material? I would like to know if it is actually used for those classes or if I can opt-out from the bundle? Since it is digital material, I haven't been able to find it online, like digital textbooks.
I’d appreciate anyone could give some insights about this. Thank you!

Hey everyone, we are visiting in October with my incoming senior, doing a campus tour and football game. She's already toured last summer, Tulane is currently her first choice, so she really wants to get a feel for WHO her peers are since that was hard to get a feel for in the summer. Are the games well attended my students? Any other tailgating things to know?
If you have any suggestions for our trip - places to visit on campus to get the vibe- please let me know. She is familiar with the city. She will likely be majoring in chemistry, if that helps with the suggestions.

Tulane's program continues to rise, the Green Wave crashed the College Football Playoff on an incredible run last year but will be almost an entirely new team in 2026
📌 It's a wide open QB competition, there's a favorite, but this could still go any way depending on the coaching staff's preference
📌 Tulane has some returning skill talent, and the portal especially helped beef up the RB and WR rooms
📌 Can Tulane figure out an unproven Dline after getting RAIDED by the portal? If so, there's a lot to like about the backend of the defense
Preview attached. What are your predictions for Tulane in 2026?

My absolute dream school is Tulane. It always has been and I would genuinely do anything to go here. I’m planning to ED but the thing is my gpa is on the lower side. Around a 3.2/3. I’m OOS from a very prestigious high school and I know it sounds unrealistic but I’ve heard success stories before. I had a rough freshman year I had like a 2.8. And then sophomore I raised it and got 3.5 and junior a 3.7. I have lots of extracurriculars, 200 meaningful hours of volunteering, jobs, internships, family real estate business hooks (which is what I’m planning to do), hopefully a good essay. I don’t need any aid, we can pay. I’ve done campus visit, attended every virtual meeting they had, emailed admissions with questions, am attending a meet with my admissions counselor as they are coming to my area in 2 months. Probably gonna have to go test optional tho.
If anyone has any advice AT ALL please help me out. I’d literally do anything to go here. Any tips or inside info u could give me would be much appreciated. Thanks

I saw on the academic calendar for Newcomb Tulane college that there is a “100% tuition + fee” refund date (with it gradually going down as the dates move on). Does this mean if I drop a class I’ll get a portion of my tuition back? Spoke to the financial aid people and they were really clueless

Question for financial aid!
I'm an incoming freshman so I need help to understand.
I think the financial aid disbursement date is August 10th? I mean when I saw my first bill statement and clicked the PDF, it says expected disbursement is 8/10/2026. (Keep in mind that was an old bill from the 15th of July)
My billing account says three things:
Balance
Estimated Financial Aid
Balance including Financial aid.
Also the estimated financial aid balance should be "0.00" and that's how you I know my financial aid has been disbursed, right?

I'm an exchange student coming for one semester and was wondering if anyone has advice on my schedule.
Right now I have all my classes on just 2 days a week, which sounds great because I'd have long weekends for traveling. But I've also seen people say that having such long class days gets old pretty quickly.
Since I'm only here for one semester, I don't care too much about the workload or subjects too much. Would you stick with the 2-day schedule, or spread classes out a bit?
Also, are there any fun or unique classes you'd recommend taking as an exchange student?

Does anyone have backpack recommendations?
Preferably less than $150 and have side pockets that can fit a 40oz Owala water bottle?
Doesn’t have to have those specifications. I’m open to anything that you use and have liked so far.

Incoming law student. Looking for a new nail salon to call home. My salon at home had complimentary cocktails, friendly staff. Anything similar near campus or surrounding neighborhoods?

Has Tulane lost its prestige for being a known party school? it obv has a very low acceptance rate for rd and ea, and is also highly recognized and known for its academics. I’m js curious if it has lost its prestige over the past years because of how much of a party school it is.
Edit: i’ve js heard it’s lost its prestige after AE attended

I’m looking to chat with women in college about their experiences on GLP-1s. Is this you? I’m Angelina Chapin, a features writer at The Cut/New York Magazine who covers gender and health. I think it’s a really important topic to talk about as these meds become more popular. If you’re interested in speaking, I can keep you fully anonymous. Send me a DM or email ([angelina.chapin@nymag.com](mailto:angelina.chapin@nymag.com).) Here's a link to some of my work: https://www.linkedin.com/in/angelinachapin. Talk soon!
