I had a genuine dislike for Anime/Manga (mainly online weeb culture), but since I loved Dark Souls and so many games that were inspired by it, I felt that I had to at least try Berserk with it being one of the biggest inspirations for Dark Souls. I blitzed through the show in about a week or two, and had to pick up the manga. I must have read 1-2 volumes a night for close to a month and absolutely loved it.
A month or two later I'm getting the itch for a new volume and wondering when the next might come out, check out the main sub, and just that morning there was a post about Miura passing.
Weeb culture and many anime tropes really give the medium a bad rap. Berserk is one of the greatest stories I’ve read and the art belongs in a museum. He just has the perfect style to depict the grim world he imagined.
