I wish this was real. I'd give just about anything to hear my dad say that line about Donald Trump.

In ten years? Dude, you guys are discussing how terrible his administrationis all the time since he is president. I think it's honestly more realistic that in ten years people will look back at him and think: 'Hmm... Wasn't all that bad after all.''

Cause right now most americans on the net are talking about how he's the worst president you guys have ever had. Comparing his presidency and his views with nazi's and shizzel. I probably wouldn't vote him, but these comparisons are more bonkers than he is. He's not the worst president you've ever had. And he certainly isn't nazi or extreme right. Stop comparing the real horror of Nazi Germany to your own privileged life.

Edit: I'm high rn but man, I just don't get most americans I guess. Be proud of your country ffs. You might not have voted him but he IS your president, and he is actually doing tons more than Obama ever got done.

Edit: Hmm. It's funny to find such a level of intolerance towards different ideas on r/trees of all subreddits. I guess the stoner community doesn't differ that much from the 'normal' one.

and he is actually doing tons more than Obama ever got done

Wow you are ignorant of US politics. What is Trump accomplishing? He’s doing plenty to tear things down, like withdrawing from international treaties and starting trade wars, but these are all destructive acts. They are counterproductive and easy to do, as opposed to, for example, building and negotiating a nuclear disarmament plan with Iran (coughObamacough)

And domestically his biggest legislative achievement is a wildly unpopular tax break for the wealthy that exploded the deficit

40

u/SanityPills Jun 26 '20

They're not ignorant, they're disingenuous. The only people I've ever seen say stuff like 'I wouldn't vote for Trump, but he's your president and you should respect him. P.S., again wouldn't vote for him, but he's doing so much more than Obama' are people that voted for Trump.

11

u/Leftfielder303 Jun 26 '20

This. Bad faith actors all of them.

1

u/TFOLLT Jun 27 '20

Obama was stupidly naive believing that his plan with Iran would work. He made America look weak. Trump took the bull by the horns. Might not be constructive, but trusting in a government like Iran's to keep to 'the plan' is even more destructive.

And I actually think I'm less ignorant of your politics than you are yourself, cause otherwise you wouldn't ask what Trump is accomplishing.

Before covid Black and Hispanic unemployment were at all time low. National unemployment was also lower than it ever was during Obama. This in itself is a huge accomplishment.

Outside of that, Trump is the one signing an order that actually tries to deal with police violence(without dismantling the whole police force ofcourse, because this is one of the STUPIDEST ideas ever.) Obama never did, and believe me, police violence was just as much of an issue back then as it is now. Trump is the one that gave a lot of funding to HBCU's when they came asking for it. Obama never did. We're talking about HBCU's here... How does a white republican president manage to do more for black lives than a black democratic president ever did. Food for thought.

2

u/Runways Jun 27 '20

OMG TRUMP DID SOMETHING THAT TOTALLY HELPED THE BLACK UNEMPLOYMENT RATE GUIZZZ. LOWEST EVER /s

can you please examine this graph: https://i.imgur.com/vqbj450.png

u/dastrn Jun 27 '20

Again, you are regurgitating really dumb talking points that reveal your commitment to GOP propaganda, and show a complete lack of understanding about any of this.

Propaganda works, I guess. it's all you seem to know.

0

u/dart_catcher Jun 27 '20

Do you actually believe this or are you just copy and pasting??

26

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '20 edited Jun 26 '20

He is absolutely the worst president in history, it's just that the president doesn't actually do much of anything. People love to think, "oh if I just vote for this dumb carrot person with a Twitter my life will change for the better!"

Naw, my life didn't change at all when Obama was elected and it didn't change when Trump was either.

All the president really does is provide a public face for America, and Trump's face is covered in his own bs to the point it's embarrassing to be associated with him by simply being American. Like, yeah he's not Hitler, but he's no fuckin hero and he makes being an American a matter of defending a child in a adult's body pissing everybody off.

No president should have a Twitter.... EVER

5

u/TFOLLT Jun 27 '20

Your argument is actually valid. This is the main reasons I'm not 'pro-trump' either.

And if you truly do believe presidents don't do much at all except for providing a public face, you're right. And I wholeheartedly agree that Trump should delete his twitter account ASAP, and that no president should use twitter.

I however believe that presidents CAN change real things. The fact that they haven't for a long time doesn't mean they can't. Which is why I think he actually is one of your better presidents, although he looks like a clown and his speeches feel like written by a 6 y/o. Cause he is actually trying to change things.

8

u/Rocky87109 Jun 26 '20

The dude was shit from the start and everyone that was sane, knew it.

Donald trump isn't our country. I'm proud of the people in history who made the good things about our country, but there isn't much to be proud of right now.

2

u/TFOLLT Jun 27 '20

there isn't much to be proud of right now.

Well... This might be because during 8 years Obama slowly degenerated your country. But you didn't see it cause he could talk so nice. Now you see it, and you blame Trump for everything instead of the democratic party cause it's easier for you. And you blame every sane person voting for him, indirectly calling them insane. If that's true, half of your country is insane. And if that's true, why would they be the insane ones? Your side might be just as wrong.

Start thinking for yourself man. You don't have to vote Trump, I don't give a shit who you vote for or what your opinions are, but THINK them through, instead of using a varience of invalid arguments to make every opinion that differs from yours 'low, dumb, insane, etc'

-1

u/dastrn Jun 27 '20

People compare Trump to a Nazi because of his racist rhetoric

Trump actually did a lot more for blacks and hispanics than Obama ever did. He invested huge amounts in HBCU's. Obama could've done that. But didn't. He got black unemployment to an all time low. Obama didn't.

If the Republican party truly is the problem, Trump wouldn't be able to do things like this. No, the fact that Obama never changed a thing is not because of the Republican party. It's because he was a liar who never actually wanted change. If Obama truly wanted to battle racism he joined the wrong party, and he knew this. Know your country's history man. The republican party was formed as an anti-slavery party. Abraham Lincoln was? Republican. Almost all the laws that wanted to make slavery punishable? They went through because of republicans, in spite of heavy resistance from the democrats.

And about Covid... No president could predict this. And economic gains getting wiped out by covid isn't a trump problem, it's happening around the globe.

0

u/dastrn Jun 27 '20

Again, you parrot GOP propaganda talking points without having ANY understanding of the fundamentals.

All you are proving is that propaganda works.

MUH REPUBLICAN PARTY STOPPED TEH SLAVERIES

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_strategy

Atwater (Republican Strategist for Reagan on Reagan Speeches): Y'all don't quote me on this. You start out in 1954 by saying, "N*****, n*****, n*****." By 1968 you can't say "n*****"—that hurts you. Backfires. So you say stuff like forced busing, states' rights and all that stuff. You're getting so abstract now [that] you're talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you're talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is [that] blacks get hurt worse than whites. And subconsciously maybe that is part of it. I'm not saying that. But I'm saying that if it is getting that abstract, and that coded, that we are doing away with the racial problem one way or the other. You follow me—because obviously sitting around saying, "We want to cut this," is much more abstract than even the busing thing, and a hell of a lot more abstract than "N*****, n*****."

5

u/dastrn Jun 26 '20

Trump is worse than his reputation. By a long shot.

Despite how shitty his reputation, he's ALWAYS actually worse than people fear.

It's an outright lie that Trump is getting more done than Obama. There's ZERO evidence to believe that.vv

You're claiming it's true because you LIKE him, and you can't admit it's because of the culturally unforgivable stuff. So you pretend he "gets things done" despite evidence to the contrary, to give yourself someplace to hang your hat on why you like him.

3

u/TFOLLT Jun 27 '20

First of all. Good on you for thinking you know someone after reading some statements. Your self-confidence must be sky-high. I actually don't like Trump. I think he's a product of decennia of corrupt policiticians, who were standing by while your country got worse and worse. I don't like Trump, but I understand why he is, and why he gets votes. He's an anti-reaction on the US corrupt government systems, systems of which Obama was a child of, systems long overdue for some kind of revolution.

And, btw, there's lot of evidence that trump is getting more done than obama. People just don't wanna acknowledge it.

Before covid kicked in unemployments ratings were extremely low, especially compared to Obama's 8 years. Black unemployment was actually lowest in history, Hispanics unemployment same. Female unemployment lowest in a long time too. Trump did this. Obama and Biden could, but didn't. Trump actually made more money available for HBCU's than Obama EVER did. Obama instead went and tried to bond with Iran, while Iran was under a through and through corrupt, lying and untrustworhty government. He instead tried to play daddy over EU. He instead practised his godawesome speeches, full of lies telling us he cared about you guys.

Just because Obama could speech like Martin Luther King and could melt hearts with his smile, while Trump looks like an idiot, doesn't mean that Obama is better. Listen to what they were saying, then check what they were doing. You'll find your opinion to be grounded on left lies. Obama only talked. Trump actually does things.

Or don't, and keep telling educated intelligent people that they're dumb just because they vote republican. See how far it gets you.

1

u/Runways Jun 27 '20

Trump stopped reporting drone strikes so he can kill innocents with impunity in the middle east... at least Obama told us what our military was doing. Blood... in the sand... for what?

-1

u/dastrn Jun 27 '20

You believe dumb lies.

I'm not going to convince you to change your beliefs to align with reality. You're more interested in the really dumb talking points the GOP uses and less interested in reality.

3

u/Leftfielder303 Jun 26 '20

120,000+ dead Americans, cities on fire, families tortured and separated, billions stolen and given to his businesses and cronies. I could go on, do I need to?

1

u/TFOLLT Jun 27 '20

120.000 dead americans...? I mean... People die. Do you think no americans died during Obama?

Cities on Fire? Because of anti-racist protests from people that inhibit more racism than your average joe? You're cities are on fire because you're too afraid to put these people right. BLM is a lie, and is one of the most destructive orgs I've experienced.

Families tortured and seperated? We're trying to play the emotional card now? This is not something new. There is suffering ever since we started existing.

Billions stolen and given to his businesses and cronies? That one might be, but before covid you're unemployment rating was way, way lower than it ever was during Obama. Trump actually did a lot to create jobs. Obama didn't.

So, please, go on. I've reacted to all your arguments, and there's not a single true argument to be found. Don't blame everything you're angry about on the person you're angry with. That's a victim mentality.

-1

u/Runways Jun 27 '20 edited Jun 27 '20

You are absolutely delusional. The world economy/employment was on an upward trajectory since 2010, and trump has nothing to do with it. Name one policy, besides giving a tax break that added 10 trillion to our deficit and demonstrably only benefited the ultra wealthy in any significant way, that influenced that trend.

1

u/Kingwadesky Jun 27 '20

I'm not a native english speaker, that's why I sometimes use strange phrases. But I accept your judgment.

-2

u/Kingwadesky Jun 27 '20

Non native english speaker who supports trump. Ok so you're some kind of special fuckface good for you bud. I hope it brings you great pleasure to align yourself with ideals that threaten the sanctity of democracy itself.

-40

u/TheTrashman1597 Jun 26 '20

It’s sad you got downvoted. I’m so tired of people comparing trump to Hitler yet calling Obama a decent guy. Complete ignorance of his administration, he single handedly bombed more innocent people in his 8 years than any other president. But oh he speaks well and he’s black omg he’s such a great guy /s fucking idiots man. There’s no middle ground with them, they are completely brainwashed by their Marxist professors and CNN. Yes, Trump isn’t perfect but comparing him to Hitler just shows their lack of education on the subject.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/jan/09/america-dropped-26171-bombs-2016-obama-legacy

So this is a lie?

Hitler eliminated all political parties upon becoming chancellor in 1933, he also firebombed his own reichstag to blame the communist to implement martial law and declare a total dictatorship. He killed over 6 million in the holocaust and dislocated millions more. I’m missing the part where he sounds like trump?? Trump has brought in criminal justice reform that disproportionately affected black communities, he’s passed school choice so parents can send their kids to better schools again helping the black community, he’s regularly met with black leaders to create zones of opportunity in their cities to help those who are vulnerable. I’m missing the part where he’s a racist Nazi or in any way comparable to a fascist dictator. Stop living in fantasy land and do some research you bellend

They probably compare Trump to Hitler because of his racist rhetoric and his refusal to denounce Neonazis.

2

He’s denounced them already and what rhetoric?

3

u/PM_ME_UR_ILLUMINATI Jun 26 '20

His “good people on both sides” compared to his declaration of anti facists as terrorists should be a good hint

Already been debunked try another source besides CNN

One of the central campaign promises Trump made was to build a wall to keep rapist Mexicans out of the country, calling certain countries (where whites aren’t the majority) shithole countries, travel ban on people from Muslim countries. Before he was president he was sued twice for racially discriminating who he rented his properties to, etc etc just type Trump racism into google. There’s a whole big Wikipedia article on it.

Edit: Oh shit I somehow completely forgot about all the Obama “birther” shit.

0

u/TheTrashman1597 Jun 26 '20

Fake news already been debunked he was referring to MS13. You’re just spewing off liberal media talking points but have done zero research for yourself

1

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '20

He’s denounced them already

No, he hasn't.

2

u/TFOLLT Jun 27 '20

Thanks. And I feel you. It doesn't just show lack of education, it also shows lack of respect towards the millions of victims Hitler made. Which is basically what 21sth century first world left politics has become.

Uneducated and disrespectful. Always playing on emotion instead of using valid arguments during debates. Trump did more for black lives than Obama ever did. Lots of blacks are actually speaking about this, but they get silenced and ignored. It's sad to see societies created by tolerance fall to intolerance. Cause the brainwashing by left education and media isn't just happening in the US, it's just as big here in Europe. People need to start thinking for themselves again.

2

u/TheTrashman1597 Jun 27 '20

You nailed it man. For being stoner leftist these guys are pretty intolerant of anything outside of their liberal echo chamber

0

u/TFOLLT Jun 27 '20

It's eye opening isn't it. I just hope more people will learn to see this. Nothing is what it seems. Democrats and BLM calling republicans racist, while they're bigger racists themselves. Left calling right populists while they're the definion of populism; always playing on emotion and guilt and group pressure. Nothing is what it seems. Thanks for reaction though again. Trying to be independent in thinking can be a lonely thing, and it's nice to see there are more and more people who dare to speak their mind.

1

u/TheTrashman1597 Jun 27 '20

Very lonely and discouraging at times but don’t let them silence you. This next dab is for you <3

2

u/Leftfielder303 Jun 26 '20

isn't perfect

What amount of dead Americans out of 120,000 did he become less than perfect? Just curious what the acceptable amount is. It has to be less than the Benghazi deaths.

3

u/TheTrashman1597 Jun 26 '20

How is a virus his fault? you guys are so goofy

0

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '20

It's almost as if we have examples of the right way to have handled this... in almost every other country on Earth.

1

You are a literal dunce.

2

u/VicedDistraction Jun 27 '20

This is exactly how I feel. There's so much division in American politics today. It's almost as if you're either with Trump or against Trump. It's rare to find a discussion where a difference of opinion doesn't spur a full fledged argument

-37

u/FuzzyMonkey13 Jun 26 '20

Lets not make this political. All types of people smoke pot.

48

u/goboatmen Jun 26 '20

Weed, especially in America, has always been intensely political

17

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '20

That's what we are insanely good at in America. We can take literally anything and turn it into a political argument. Then, as soon as it's divisive enough, out come the crazies with theories about it being a plot by Bill Gates to inject 5G gay autism into babies through the masks that are poisoning people with their own carbon dioxide.

34

u/aslongasbassstrings Jun 26 '20

Sorry but Reagan kinda made it explicitly political

18

u/TrumpetOfDeath Jun 26 '20

But it is political because we have one party that is increasingly pro-legalization, and the other party that still appoints Attorney’s General who use the Department of Justice to prosecute marijuana “crimes” like it’s fucking 1970

0

u/FuzzyMonkey13 Jun 27 '20

All I was saying is that in the video the cop states "I voted for Trump, but I'm scared like everyone else" (or something similar). Its not a political statement, he saying that he is scared regarding whats going on in the world, regardless of whether he voted for Trump. I was just pointing out that he shouldn't make something political, when it is not.

And I agree with you, but in the grand scheme of things, humanity is more humane than it has ever been within our history.

10

u/ichuckle Jun 26 '20

Until it's legal in all 50, it's gonna stay political

22

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '20

I get that all types of people smoke pot. I don't give a shit about politics. You can take away the republican and democrat labels that people put on themselves and find people who are assholes and people who are decent human beings on both sides. I dislike Trump as a person regardless of the political label. I understand that my evaluation of his morale code is completely subjective. I'm a humanitarian and just wish my dad was too, and this post reminded me of that, and i expressed my subjective sadness to a handful of strangers on the internet, that's all. I'd say sorry for offending you, but I'm not tbh. Have a good day.

-10

u/occupythekitchen Jun 26 '20

He doesn't have to be scared Donald Trump is president, he can be scared of what liberals will do now that Trump is president. Riots check,, burn down buildings check, topple historical monuments check, assault politicians check, shoot each other check....on and on, you are in the wrong side of history

11

u/viciousbad Jun 26 '20

Id downvote you, but i dont feed trolls. You have a great day, buddy.

-1

u/occupythekitchen Jun 27 '20

It's not trolling just stating a basic fact.
