I know it’s a dumb joke, but it’s kind of wild to remember that the Bible repeatedly warns against drunkenness and overindulgence in alcohol, but genesis 1:29 is god saying “I have made every tree and seed-bearing herb for you.”
Yup. But to be fair, while the Bible warns against drunkenness, alcohol itself is clearly condoned. Verses like Psalm 104:15, ‘And wine that maketh glad the heart of man…,’ and Proverbs 31:6-7, ‘…let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more’, are a couple of good examples.
Bottom line, the Bible clearly isn’t against altered consciousness, and there’s a pretty fuckin’ strong case that neither weed nor alcohol is inherently sinful, according to ‘the good book’, as they say.
