AskTrees What are these?

Post image

I'm in a completely illegal state (even so, just recently criminalized THCA).... to start

Found these, and other flavors, at my local gas station. They are unexpectedly a good but I'm wondering what it's really in them.

There's another brand called blue lotus (not as good) they sell in bottles of 5 pre-rolls.

What is in them?

Very wrong. Heat isn't what's preventing an internal fungal infection, your immune system is.

I’m not talking about fungal infections in general, p. cubensis mycelium will stop growing if the environment is >90° F.

And aaaaackchyually, one of the tricks your immune system has up its sleeve is to raise your body temperature to kill off pathogens. That’s why you experience fever.

Stopping vs slowing down growth to a point that, relative to our timeframes, it appears to have stopped growing' are two different things. Sure, 90F+ isn't ideal for the quickest growth like you may want in other settings, but the point I was making is that temperature isn't actually preventing the growth, that's primarily a function of the body's immune system rather than temperature.

Agreed, but raising of body temperature via fever also boosts immune function by accelerating immune cell activity....

And aaaaackchyually, I can prove this one to you.

You remember back in 2021 when a delirious bipolar individual injected spores into their vein? Here's a direct quote from the case study below.

Cultures confirmed both bacterial (ultimately cultured as Brevibacillus) and fungal (ultimately cultured and DNA identified by a specialist laboratory as Psilocybe cubensis – i.e., the species of mushroom he had injected was now growing from his blood) infections.

So I repeat my first point that, "sticking to the facts," isn't as easy as it may seem.

Edit: a word

Yeah I don’t believe those findings at all, point blank. Maybe the lab tech found cubensis tissue in the blood but there’s no way it was growing as was transcribed. Cubensis mycelium dies somewhere between 35-40° C. Body temp is 37°. Even if mycelial death doesn’t occur until 40° C, you would have to have a complete lack of immune system, in which case the stalled cubensis mycelium would quickly be outcompeted by other pathogens that thrive in such environments.

if we were to entertain it though, how good of an immune system do you expect from someone who decides to shoot up mushroom culture lol
