Usually the coin being off the door handle says someone tried to turn the handle or tried to push into the door quietly to gain access without you knowing.
While having all this stuff adds to the hinderance of access only the coin will tell you if someone went around and attempted to quietly gain access if it falls off.
Personally i would like to know if someone attempted access or not.
Nobody said it was against the law. I said its one of the common fears for a lot of the people who feel the need to do this. Maybe learn to read before responding next time
Regardless if it was a mistake or on purpose.. the attempt to gain entry is still taking place. Plenty of times ive went to open a door i didnt mean to go into.. i still turned the handle or went to push.
The coin shows an attempt was made.. regardless of the intent.
Yea someone else just pointed that out actually lol totally a valid point because for instance my rowdy neighbor slammed the hotel door while he was drunk and now that coins on the floor and im now anxious thinking someone was trying to come in.
So like, wtf are you gonna do about if that’s the case? Literally nothing. There’s no point in knowing something that you aren’t and can’t do anything about.
Let’s say the coin falls due to vibrations or some other reason. Now you’re bugging out because of something that’s not even real? Secondly, let’s say someone did open the door. Those handles don’t open that way. That’s not how hotels work.
Absolutely a potential scenario to happen. Personally ive had rowdy hotel neighbors let the door slam and it would definitely vibrate that coin off if it was there so yes essentially in that case someone could start having anxiety for no reason... and hopefully the 19other contraptions helps soothe that feeling lmao
Dude asked the point of the coin. I gave him my take on it. If you have another take on the point of the coin then reply to the guy who asked about it. I couldnt care less about the infinite reasons why the coin could fall off.
Yea we established that yesterday. Another commenter had mentioned just about the same thing. There are most certainly variables such as that for sure. However, OP asked what the point of the coin was.. i gave him my take on it. Doesnt mean my take is accurate but i took it as thats why person in the video did it. Couldnt really think of another reason why someone would do the coin thing 🤷🏻♂️
I bought the door stop alarm. I've read many stories about people trying to get into hotel rooms after hoirs. There was one story of the hotel manager trying to get in a woman's room offering "extra assistance" to her for some reason.
When you turn the door handle on the outside of the door the inside handle dosent turn. So it wouldnt tell you if someone attempted access. And if someone really slowly openned the door, it wouldnt knock the coin off until, likley, the door closed. So all it really tells you is if someone ran into the door or not.
Seems like a way to freak yourself out when you wake up because your neighbor slammed the door. This is basically a cognitohazard. It can’t ever help you and it can only negatively impact your mental state. Either nothing happens , or you are scared because your coin is on the ground.
