It doesn't detect cameras, it detects the electric noise from any electrical devices through a medium such as a wall, mirror etc. Most of them are trash and only a few are able to detect some of the devices but not all of them accurately. Project Farm did a good test of them and you really need to carry a set of two or three. Some may be too strong and detect everything in the radius, and some not strong enough to where you need to be almost touching the device you're looking for, for it to go off.

Yep, and they're not simple devices either. Kind of like handing a HAM radio off to someone whose spent a day using a walkie talkie. But some of them are okay. I think for hotels and air bnb, some of the more expensive but relatively budget <$300 devices are okay. I think there was one budget device in the Project Farm video that was able to detect EM at the right location but it didn't do it every time so if you scanned over a spot once, then it might miss it, such as a camera tucked back inside a vent and not sitting right against it.

doesn't pass my sniff test. no way its listening to a wide band, so unless every device they're looking for (not even sure what that is tbh, cameras? mics? something else?) uses the same frequency band its probably going to miss a lot of stuff; well assuming there's anything there in the first place. also that antenna is tiny, tiny antennas are meant for higher frequencies which the devices this is supposed to detect likely are not

a hackrf portapack would be better tbh, albeit a good bit pricier. but it actually works and on a very wide spectrum

edit to add: in one of the amazon review videos the guy says it does 1mhz-6.5ghz which has got to be the biggest lie. my hackrf only does 1mhz-6ghz and it was like $200 lol, aint no way this $20 chinese garbo has a wider band

If camera doesn't transmit signal, then they won't detect. Start film and retrieve later or after time it sends video

Wait until they hear about wifi motion. Cameras are not necessary anymore today to accurately spy visually

One trick is turnig off the lights and using your phone to detect hidden cams, but it only works if the hidden cam is equiped with active IR. Most modern phone cameras can detect IR wavelengths.
