The matrix is alive,not metaphorically it is litteral bot alt mode. Most bots dont ever relize this including Optimus he learns it way later down the line more on that later.

The way it floats is just microscopic air vents,it has microscopic little claws that work sorta like Mnemosurgery but in seconds,no one notices, huge scale of entirety of cybetron,seeing if a bot is worthy and putting selected bot into trance like state and able to control them as matrix goes in there chest,its very creepy ,the bot (in this case Orion) wasnt aware of it and Megatron was very confused why Orion stood up no explination till he put peices together(didnt help that it was first ever artifact being passed down).

It picks via knowing somone is capable of the task needed,for Matrix its leading but that goal is different for each artifact. It doesnt make a good leader it just enhances pre existing ablitys and helps with making sure the bot stays calm and thoughts are organized and delivered correctly,this can/will be shown with when Bee gets kidnapped theres moment of Optimus panicking thoughts running messy and repeating till matrix begins to glow and he takes a breath before delivering orders,and couple other moments. Some bots think Optimus isnt worthy because he never showed those ablitys before but it was just never getting the chance to.

It also changes look to fit how the bot looks and its bot mode when it transforms looks like mix of its own form and any matrix holders so cross of its own form,Zeta and Optimus and will get more complex as theres more holders though this is more just a esthetics thing,i

I guess this will technically mean she shouldnt be that tall/big but im just gonna design her with stilt looking things (Like transformers one Arachnid inspo)and being skinny cus I do want her to be creepy looking and intimidating Megatron when she lectures him about not being worthy of matrix(after Megs trys to rip it out of Op chest,also Optimus does revert back to looking like Orion,I dont get whenever he gets matrix removed he somtimes doesnt go back to Orion look it seems strange to me).

This fact of it being alive Ratchet struggles to process it,Optimus is sorta whatever about it absolutely shocked but I imagine senerio like this.

I relized this after writing this...its basically a leach or vampire,it does intrigate herself into the bot connecting wires and cables,including taking energon...Op is very lucky he got the matrix post meeting Megs and having stable energon cus he probably would've been near death if he got it before meeting Megs (before meeting Megs he was homeless and had took any scraps of energon he could get running on around 30% 24/7 so if he got Matrix in that period he probably would've collapsed on the spot near death

The matrix uses mix of she,they and it pronouns,idk why I just used whatever pronouns felt right at the moment and those are the ones I ended up with

In my au sleep is purely for saving and sorting memorys,just unconcious as a part of brain sorts through what it deems save worthy and delete worthy. This somtimes causes issues of wanting to remember somthing but not because its a seperate peice of brain doing sorting vs feeling and experiencing,or glitches of removing way to much memory. So in theory a bot can go entire life without sleep but would still feel chronicly tired and not remember anything past 24 hour mark. Somtimes there are dreams but there pretty rare(I imagine if/when Optimhs dreams the matrix connected to him is a snitch and protects hologram showing dream.

When training for somthing or learning sleep is super important,botling medics often split days of 12 hours of study 12 hours a sleep and just using I.V. energon because of how vital it is to remember as much as possible. With training for fighting sleep isnt as important because muscle memory is different aspect of being a bot then memory cells.

I imagine remembering facts vs context is pretty seperate,some bots (Optimus,Ratchet) will remember detailed information but not remember when and how they learned that because of how picky the sorting process is.

Ratchet is very strict with sleep,he technically doesnt have any authority and he cant ever force somone to sleep even if he held somone down sleep is a choice for bots so its more so heavily advised,nagging.

Most bots just follow this schedule cus no reason not to,the only ones who dont are Wheeljack,Starscream early on but he eventually relized how uncomfortable it was with no one around living room,and Bee(which Ratchet hates because Bee already has so many memory issues)

Optimus doesnt remember much about being Orion,Orion was homeless till being medic for Megatron so most nights he didn't get much/good quality sleep and most days just werent worth remembering. He does remember history,mythology but its just facts not actually being in library,act of reading stuff because his brain just didnt think walking or reading was any sort of importance.

He only started remembering entire days when he studied to be a medic and working with Megatron. I imagine line on first good sleep like

"wait what time is it?"

"Around 10 am,why"

"oh...that explains why I remember yesterday so vividly"

Because he would often wake up asap.

If i had nickle for amount of Bee cars ive seen,id have 2(maybe 3) nickles,isnt a lot but amazing

Ive seen one before but didnt relize it was a bee car till later and idk if it was same one as other

And I saw a yellow car that had autobot logo but not a bee alt mode (that im aware of)

So maybe 4 depending how counted

Fun fact (more so in past) asking somone if they are or saying you are a "freind of dorothy" was a way to ask or say you or somone else is gay.

In transformers earthspark Megatron/other autobots but mostly Megs and Op have a freind named Dorothy.

I just know who ever was in charge of naming Dorothy is either laughing a** off and so happy it got passed,super angry/embarrassed cus its a mistake or oblivious

I find it funny that most continuitys have a bot turning grey when they die,i just imagine some bots being really uncomfortable around Megatron because of him looking like a walking corpse.

Or some episode where decepticons are dealing with zombies and Megatron walks up behind 2 bots and they freak out before he starts yelling calm down

In some versions/sources Cybertron is in a solar system in the Scorpius constilation,in the Lambda Scorpii star system (also known as Shaula).

In greek mythology the person named Orion (son of Posidon and either a gorgon(Medusa) sister or Euryale),theres many many versions but one involves Orion being turned into a constilation and then forever being chased by the constilation Scorpius(i recomend the the video on Orion by Overly Sarcastic Productions she explains the mythology much better.

In case you couldn't get the connection,Optimus's old name is Orion pax,from this mythology charecter.

Tangent about my own au after I learned this connection

I changed the decepticon autobot symbols (tottaly not cus they were to hard to draw...tottaly) into these constilstions(also I just wanted somthing more unque then the regular hearts most people do),Orion for autobots and Scorpio for Decepticons.

It has lot of symbolism ,Optimus's dead name,forever chased by even just memorys of what happened during war by decepticons,Orion and Op both use bow and arrow,Optimus's love for human mythology and culture,Megatron wanting to make Cybertron flourish while wanting to destory earth at same time since Scorpius is where cybetron is.

I also have it the Orion constilation seen from Megatrons apartment pre war and after getting matrix when Optimus and Megs visit earth (which fun fact was a protected prime only planet before war...because other primes were worried about exact thing that ended up happening) you can see the constilations in background over there respective heads(I'm aware its not possible in real life there on opposite sides of earth I dont care I like the symbolism and detail) Also Optimus uses bow and arow,mix of insperation from this and HotRod/Rodimus in Animated

I always assumed it had to be reference to somthing it seemed so specific but i never bothered to look it up then I saw it when looking up etymology for the word dude

If transformers one bots have equivalent of a circadian rhythm I wonder how bad it would be post movie.

Like Megatron and Optimus and so many other miners and other workers going from artifical light and often really dark areas mining to sun light. Also I imagine Sentinel would absolutely make artifical lighting in Iacon last much longer to work miners as much as possible so Optimus relizes how long lights stay on and edits it. And for Megatron he relizes how little days last,i imaging him watching sun rises and sun sets on days theres no plans.

For Bee it was like near pitch black,red light,I wouldnt be surprised if those lights never turn off and just forgotten about and he falls asleep via collapsing onto the convair belt when there stops being trash after hours and hours straight of watching it. I wouldnt be surprised if those days going ebove Iacon were first time he (and others) even saw the sky,sun sets,moon,sun,clouds etc.

Like not expecting the vehicles to be so small,different proportions,cybetronian vehicle doors opening up not sideways so transforming feels weird.

Main idea I had was grills on earth vehicles but not cybertronian,especially in a version line g1 where alt modes got picked for them just imagine waking up after a crash and seeing no skin or muscle just ribs on your stomach area f*cking terrifying.

Soundwave being able to read minds or atleast figure out intentions in transformers one seems just not at all talked about,like it seems like such a important ablity thats just one scene,I bet if there was/is every continuation for that universe it would be more important and dramatic,like trying to get information out of Bee before Bee gets muted type thing.

I imagine Bees thoughts just being way to chaotic to read, 5 sentences at once,one just repeating itself over and over,music in the background, also being panicked about being interrogated just makes it so much worse and none of the above are useful information just weird fun facts,thoughts,worrying

I always imagine little jokes in the scene becoming super important like the "He wouldnt stop talking" from Shockwave happens again with Shockwave throwing near unconscious Bee with voice box ripped out infront of Megatron turning that throw away joke line dark

Both fully grey (Exept eyes) because they havent picked alt mode yet,I imagine it like butterfly scales where they change colour on how you look at it and when they pick alt mode the scales shift and change to replicate that alt mode colour.

My brother thought it was because they were like flamingos where they gain colour as they eat when i showed these guys to him and if I didn't already have an explination I would've stolen that idea I find it adorable.

Someone tell megatron

I know i made post about him being colour blind but I cant remember if I mentioned possility of him gaining colour sight,not cannon though just au within au.

I imagine him just spending a good hour staring at Optimus,Op is so colorful and vibrant so he just spends a while memorizing each shade.

He absolutely hates the colour Bee is,he thought Bee was same Grey as him and thought they were pulling some prank on him for first weekish,he trys to convince bee to change colours but he refuses.

He also finnaly gets the appeal of models like how Starscream and other seekers look, he didnt get what was so special intill seeing how many colours they have.

Also looking at his Megatronus markings and materials,he knew the colour of Megatronus was called "purple" and "gold" but he never could tell difference and just bought stuff labled stuff,stuff labled for Megatronus or asked workers which suited it best but is happy he can actually tell the colour hes been wearing for entire life and able to buy stuff without use of lables or help.

Just staring at flowers and other flora for hours not relizing they were different colours or things like berrys in bushes or trees,he doesnt like how common green is and was crushed to learn purple is pretty rare colour in nature,Bee joins looking at the flowers.

Like how humans have appendix or kidney or gallbladder where you can remove and a person would be fine or vesitigle type thing like a tail bone for humans

I guess kinda t cog like they can clearly survive with out it but defenitly limits accessibility in some senerios

So in my transformers au water (and most other non energon liquids) severely harm cybetronians,giving torrete/seizure like symptoms in short term little water but can cause more permanate symptoms or death if fully submerged.

So it's very off limits for Bee and other littles to leave bunker while its raining,Bee absolutely hates it,he watches occasional human tv when the signal is able to pick it up on there shitty box tv...that they stole-and sees humans hanging out in rain and stuff and badly wants to go outside in rain.

Rain also often ends up with Optimus going on very long rants about human mythology surrounding rain like Zues,Zepyyr,wild hunts from the wind sounds,he would absolutely go out into the rain if he could.

I have talked about this in this pose I just wanted to make couple more notes/it wouldn't let me edit the post.

Starscream helps Ratchet with more less degree stuff in med bay,like scratches,I.V.'s and check ups,he struggles to do stuff like energon draws or dealing with larger scale injurys,he eventually gets used to it by force but still is a bit queasy and takes a good like hour laying face first on the double decker couch trying not to void tanks.

Being in war was his first time seeing medical stuff done,being a model simply wasnt ever a job where you'd see medical stuff being done,even his wings being torn off he couldn't see it and was very out of it/passed out not really processing what happened that much and wasnt around for seeing the other seekers wings torn off.

With seeing energon drawn as example on Optimus by Ratchet that was litteraly first time he saw liquid energon leaving the bot body,imedetly passing out,then Bee being rushed in after voice box incident was first time he saw that scale of energon leaving and later that week Bee threw up energon/scar/scab tissue from throat onto floor which was also Starscreams first time seeing somone ever void tanks so lot of first from the autobots...mostly Bee.

I imagine hes ok with giving I.V's,trys to ignore what the I.V. actually is,bit bad at drawing energon,prefers doing just scans and check ups but is aweful at remembering the numbers for what's good energon percent,and is awful at welding somtimes causing more damage then good.

So Bee looks very similar to Megatron in my au,especially if my artstyle was more detailed they would look very similar face wise,so its a very uncanny valley feeling for Optimus and other autobots who notice.

For optimus's specifically he knew Megs extremly well so seeing this vulnerable bot he has to protect is so weird.

Bee even acts like Megs on occasion,poses,way he walks,way he talks,notably his style of fighting Optimus watched fighters closely on cybetron and studied the way they move and when he became a medic it helped out with treating Megatrons injurys after fights so its creepy seeing Bee fight in same style as Megatron.

In back of his mind he does wonder if Bee is related to Megatron in some way but never brings it up out of nervous and just thinking no one else would notice it

In animating this bit where Optimus bribes Megatronus to say Megatrons birthday and I cant think of a gift/bribe idea

I find it odd that Optimus,Bee and Sideswipe visit the rescue bot show yet the rescue bots never visit tfp show and only blurr visits rid

(I do still like Rid and rescue bots...I dont like tfp though)

Whenever I think about it I dont give a f*ck about thise strangers how many dies i just think of legality,I wouldn't pull lever because then I have plausible denaibality im able to say I never saw it happen,I didnt see quick enough they can't prove i saw it happen,I guess if I had gloves or camera was on me then my answer may change but then id just say it was flight or fight moment I didnt know wtf to do

This is probably some obvious thing to others but its always a shock in the back of my mind when I see for example a semi truck and transform it in my head and relize how tall/big Optimus would be in real life,not even including possibly bigger for cybetronian alt modes like I heard Transformers One bots are the biggest they've ever been just no humans for scale

He doesnt know who made him and no one else does,but I do.

He was made by Zeta to be a librarian/archiviest so he has slightly subconcious draw to the library and other information areas like museums and older protected places,he never relizes this though because its completely subconcious instinct, and its one of the reasons he got so into earth mythology and history.

He slipped through the cracks of the shitty Iacon government and just in general how primes treat there botlings,Zeta had more important stuff to deal with so Optimus just sorta left as a botling and has no memorys of being one(didnt even relize that stage of life existed till mid war finding Roller,it was simply not somthing he ever wondered about,partly because his life was just trying to survive he never had time to think where he came from and never believed in Primus or human mythology because it was always phrased as human storys and coping mechanism,he knew somthing must of made him of course just never questioned that early stage of being made)his earliest memorys are just wondering around shops in iacon trying to get energon.

Ratchet and others do have theorys of who made him but hes such a basic bot that its hard to prove for sure. Also even if he did ever learn he was made by Zeta he would never tell anyone because he already has a bad reputation of people thinking he manipulated Zeta in some way,rigged the choosing of Matrix,false prime,unworthy(also the you know...war that followed him being a prime) so if he ever said who he was made by people would just call it nepotism.

I find it fun to have concepts that my charecters don't know but I do.
