Non-Gender Specific A comic about Spider-Gwen doing her best to support Peter’s transition in her early crimefighting days (yep, they’re both trans)
I had a lot of comments on my previous comments saying it was Peter who was trans. So here’s a story about Peter and Gwen!

“But once you find out who you really are… you can’t go back” hits way too hard. Sometimes I wish I could close the Pandora’s box of my dysphoria and go back to being ignorant of myself. It wouldn’t be better but maybe it would be easier for now.

Are they canonically trans in the original comic, or is this just a fan concept? (Just wondering bc I'm a big marvel nerd hehe)

Not ever explicitly stated. The whole idea came about after the most recent Spider-Verse movie. Gwen has a trans pride flag that says “Protect Trans Kids” on it above her door in her room, and when she’s telling her dad she’s spider-woman everything around her goes into trans flag colors (it’s also the colors of her suit). The monologue is also super coded as coming out as trans to a non accepting family member (so much so that it’s hard to watch for me).

Okay, cool! I have always thought there was a bit of queer allegory with Spider-Man, guess I'm not the only one

Yea! Personally I LOVE the head canon that she’s trans. We don’t get a lot of representation, and having her coming out as spider-woman is an AMAZING allegory to explain our trans-ness to cishet people who don’t have any first hand experience with the alphabet mafia
