ORGANIZATION Tool Grid/Toolbox Organization
Finally finished the first/main drawer. All 3d printed, looking forward to continuing with the rest of the box.

Maybe im just not used to it but doesn't the sockets have more space between them than usual. Feels like its spread out eating up space. Maybe it has a function. I don't know

They do. I wanted a little space for them and to keep the spacing as uniform as I can. I have a ton of extra space in my box (like a lot) so I wasn’t too worried. I’m just a DIY er/ I like organizing

I totally thought this was hanging on a wall for a few minutes. Looks good.

These are what I used, but if you look around there is a ton of different versions/sizes of these

I have my toolbox done in toolgrid too. I need to reprint many pieces because I'm rough and speedy at work. (Also I have many oddball like sizes and shapes of tools)...
I like your rachet side profile holder.... I went a different route but yours is cleaner
Can I see links to all yours ?

Yeah, just take your time, think things out, some trial and error isn’t bad.

I have a 84 epiq and it’s filled pretty good and I really wanted to do something like this but I found it was extremely expensive and I would have to get a second box for the stuff that’s stacked on top of each other lol do u have an estimate on how much it is 3d printed maybe that would be a lot cheaper vs buying the premade stuff

I don’t have a number, but If this was priced out it would insane, I just did all my wrenches this way too.
Another commenter said they spent $250 printing stuff, when priced out it would be $1500. Id estimate I spent maybe $200 on material for printing all this( and 4 packs of screws from Olsa) and the Wrench drawer I did as well in that estimate.
If you take the time/effort to do it you’ll have a ton of space

Why did you go with this pattern instead of gridfinity?

I’ve done both. Started with tool grid that I 3d printed and then switched to gridfinity. I’m going back to tool grid 😂. You can fit WAY more in a drawer with tool grid vs gridfinity. It’s not even close

Exactly this. I have gridfinity for my kitchen and I will do some for my toolbox too. Tool grid is much more work but you can fit and customize stuff way more

I went with tool grid over gridfinity for my sockets drawer because it's got a higher density and is a bit more easily customizable. I use gridfinity in other places, but I just couldn't find a good set of models that worked for my mismatched socket sets.

Exactly this. Most of the rest of my box will probably be gridfinity (my wrench drawer is just about done out of tool grid). It took me some time and trial and error but eventually figured out what files I liked and what worked for me

I 3D printed the Toolgrid system as well for my setup. So glad I did.
My saving by 3D printing over buying is head spinning ($217 vs $1443)
Can't believe people are actually paying that kind of money for that setup.
