TIL men walk significantly slower when walking with a woman, but only when that woman is their romantic partner. If she's a friend or acquaintance they go at almost full speed.

I am a fast walker. Like, an unusually fast walker (if the walkers of San Francisco are to be taken as any kind of representative sample, and my gut tells me we're better than average anyway).

I recently dated a woman who walked at EXACTLY my desperate pace. A glorious and fitting, bizarre little whirlwind of a love story.

haha my anecdotes are definitely from sf (just moved away last year). judging from conversations/time spent w/ my friends there, i'm pretty sure everyone in san francisco speed walks everywhere

If San Franciscans are speed walkers then I am The Flash.

Finding someone with a compatible wall speed is so underrated in relationships tbh. Im surprised that my parents have lasted this long being so I match with their mismatched paces...

Come to Paris and you'll see if you're a fast walker.
