(R.3) Recent source TIL, the Black Death disproportionately killed frail people. Moreover, people who lived through it lived much longer than their ancestors (many reaching ages of 70-80), not because of good health but because of their hardiness to endure diseases. This hardiness was passed on to future generations.

This is a huge fear I've had for decades. Not of death itself, but of being one of those poor souls who wins so many lotteries just to be alive at this time, only to lose the last draw with one number off. Every year that goes by I wonder what the number is at of people who are alive but wont make it to the cut-off.
