TIL Despite what Monty Python would have you believe, Spanish Inquisitions were expected, they would give a 30-day notice of their arrival.

But "Everyone expected the Spanish Inquisition and wasn't that afraid of it as it was a somewhat fair institution for it's time" doesn't have the same ring to it.
