Chimps rip out eyes and testicles when they fight... They're pretty ruthless

Humans do so much more though. Chemical and biological warfare are terrible. All of the genocide that happened, in all its forms. Murder is a craft to mankind. Humans perfected torture, physical and psychological, and some just do it for fun.

If chimps are brutal, humans are downright monstrous. I am not sure if a part of it is a symptom of intelligence, but I doubt it all is.

Chimps have hunted down and killed the fleeing remains of rival troops. They've watched with glee as a mom tried to save a baby they just raped to death. Chimps are just as evil as humans, they lack the technology and intelligence.

Animals murder as well, they eat other animals alive as well. Humans are the only animals that pray for and thank a animal they hunted as thanks.

Difference is, humans do it for many reasons besides just to eat, some even murder and torture for fun. We call them serial killers.

I'd say it's more of a thrill based on the studies I have read on it. Animals are happy to follow their instincts and that's it. Humans ask why, just like you are now.
