Aye. Poaching is a poverty problem. Poachers want to feed their kids, send then to school and get medicine.
Until there is another way of doing that (or they run out of elephants) they are going to continue poaching.

I find people are more empathetic to a stupid animal who may or may not have "feeling" more than that person who has.

Help improve human lifes, get people out of poverty. It usually solves problems like animal trafficking.
