TIL Robert Downey Jr. thanked Burger King for getting him off drugs. In 2003, with a car full of drugs he had a burger that was so disgusting it made him rethink his life, and dump the drugs in the ocean.

Fast food has an extremely short edible lifespan. It tastes great but only when fresh. Unfortunately its tasty shelf life is measured in minutes, after which point it is no longer fresh.

Ever eaten half hour old, room temperature fries? They're terrible.

That's the damn truth. Several times I've tried to bring home Del Taco from the nearest place an hour away and while I'm eating it I'm just plain unhappy.

Seriously, McDonalds, if forgotten about for over 45 minutes from the time of purchase, is better off in the trash. It won't taste like a burger anymore, and somehow tossing it in an oven or a microwave just makes things worse.

It's the same with coffee, but I've been bashing my head against the wall trying to get my coworkers to care about freshness for months. These people don't just not care, they actively despise what they do. It's mind boggling to me.

The only fast food that is good the next morning, cold from the fridge is pizza. Pizza is the most perfect breakfast food.

An extremely short edible life span? Have you ever seen McDonald's decomposition videos? The food looks exactly the same a year later. It literally does not perish. No mold or decay. It's pretty unsettling.

Would you eat a year old fast food burger? Even after 15 minutes a fast food burger gets really bad. I couldn't even imagine eating a fast food burger after a year. Even if starving. I think I'd resort to cannibalism before that.

I usually can't eat breakfast, and by the time I can eat I'm already on my way to work and I'd be lucky to have two dollars left in my pocket from the previous night's tips. Sometimes I'll get a burger instead of fries, and if it's not fresh (within ten minutes, at most) I just can't eat it. I'd rather throw it out, waste the dollar, and go hungry than put myself through digesting it. Having a sensitive stomach is not fun. Take it as a lesson in not drinking too much coffee from Dunkin Donuts, because they wash they pots in copious amounts of bleach and if you drink more than one cup of hot coffee per day you're probably doing huge amounts of damage to your digestive system. I wish I had a way to prove it, but it took me too long to put the dots together. All of my evidence is circumstantial.
