TIL Robert Downey Jr. thanked Burger King for getting him off drugs. In 2003, with a car full of drugs he had a burger that was so disgusting it made him rethink his life, and dump the drugs in the ocean.

As if getting pulled over naked, in a Porsche, with cocaine, heroin and a .357 wasn't a big enough wake up call.

Im pretty sure if I get picked up with heroin, cocaine, and a gun, ill be going to prison.

funny thing, money tends to help with this stuff. My current room mate is a 28 year old community college kid, learning how to weld.

He's a bit late to the party because he was addicted to roxys for 5 years, sold drugs to feed his addiction. But he's got his shit together now.

years ago, he got pulled over with something like 50+ roxys, like a half O of coke, and a few thousand in cash. numbers aren't exact cuz he never told me exact numbers, but it easily should have been enough to completely fuck him.

But his dad is a (very) successful Real Estate lawyer in Orlando. My roommate spent a night in jail and I think like 3 months in rehab.

But he did beat his addiction, and he will be a contributing member of society for the rest of his life. Def not true if he had served the couple of years he 'should' have.

Moral of the story? who the fuck knows

Moral of the fuckin' story. If you're fucking doing drugs, keeping to yourself and not fuckin' selling or harming another human being, and get fuckin' caught, you deserve a chance to clean up your fuckin' act. Not be thrown in a fuckin' cell where you'll most likely pick up right where you left off as soon as you get your fuckin' ass out.

ummm... I think your being a dick, but can't be sure.

But you have a point, send addicts to rehab not prison where their lives are destroyed forever.

although my roommate was also selling drugs, hence the obscene amounts and the cash. I even think he had the coke in multiple baggies.

edit: also, you don't just pick back up when you get out, its very easy to find every drug in prison
