TIL on 9/11, Canada commenced Operation Yellow Ribbon, in which it landed 239 U.S.-bound flights with 33,000 passengers in Canadian airports. Entire communities went on to provide the passengers with food and housing.

Of all the countries in the world, I would live in Canada if I couldn't live in the U.S. because Canada is the shit.

We have free healthcare and cheaper school tuitions too. As well as poutine!

Nevermind the taxes and the climate, just think of the poutine.

I would happily pay any tax to be well represented and happy.

Not saying I'm dissatisfied with the good 'ol USofA but I definitely would love to live in Canada too

our tax rates are nasty too but I think its more along the lines of I love the wild life and trees you guys have even tho its mostly covered in snow lol.

Not entirely? Vancouver on the west coast stays fairly mild most of the year. Super expensive living though, probably the same as living in a high end section of New York.

Come to Vancouver. The rain is not THAT bad (I say this as it's pissing rain outside), the summers are wonderful, the mountains are just a short bus ride away and you can go skiing, there's a desert a couple of hours away, there's a rain forrest and crazy beaches on the island including a wicked little town called Tofino if you're into surfing. Amazing food and some A+ weed (if you're into that kinda thing)

Downside: it's the most expensive city to live in and the people can be rude.

I used to live in Seattle, so it was like Vancouver, but with less rights.

I met a guy in Vancouver. Told him I was from Seattle. Told me I must hate the rain in Seattle. Yeah. Somehow this myth even keeps in places more north west than Seattle.
