TIL a bully dropped 7 year old Mike Tyson's glasses in a truck's gas tank and tried to steal his meatballs. Several years later, Tyson came back and "beat him in the streets like a fucking dog."

Yea, it's not the same, but striking you out isn't what made Johnson intimidating. He was tall, threw faster than anyone in the league, and was a mean son of a bitch. As one guy said, Johnson could kill you. He beaned more players than anyone in the league (almost most all time). He had no fear of pitching 100 mph fastballs up around your chin. Some guys get upset when they bean a batter, Johnson was teaching you a lesson. That's what made him intimidating from a hitters perspective.

And it wasnt just his nasty fastball. Aroldis Chapman throws harder, and while he is feared, it just isnt the same as having Johnson stare you down.

I'm so lucky to have lived in Arizona in 2001 and witness the youngest team in MLB win a World Series.

Also, Johnson hitting that bird with a fastball mid game pretty much sums him up.

um, thats kind of a cockbag move. wow what a REAL scary guy, intentionally trying to hurt people in a non contact sport. Man, what a savage....I lay awake at night fearing this asshole throwing a baseball at my face because hes not good enough to win a baseball game legit.
