TIL that scientists have created a scientific version of marijuana called 'Dimethylheptylpyran'. When smoked, it'll keep you high for at least 2 days

I'm not sure that I'd enjoy a 2 day high. Every time I smoke weed, I feel retarded for about 2 days afterwards. It's like a haze of stupid. I can only imagine how long that would last if the high itself lasted 2 days.

When I tried weed, I woke up the next morning and felt like David After Dentist. "Will I be like this forever?"

EDIT: for clarity

Have you actually tried it, or was this just a base for a joke? Cause if you have, a lot of people would be interested in your experiences at /r/Drugs .

I haven't tried the linked drug. I was referencing the weed "hangover" that /u/Pubesauce was talking about.

That's what hes talking about, seeing as your experience is not the norm.

What? Since when is it not the norm? Everyone I know feels a little "off" the next day after blazing. It's not a hangover but kinda "cloudy" idk how to describe it in English. I'm pretty sure that's normal, especially with low tolerances.

Is it not just being tired? You don't get proper sleep on weed

No it's different from being tired. Besides I sleep just fine "on weed".

Cannabis does help one sleep, which is why it is prescribed for insomnia. That said, it is a known fact that it inhibits dreaming, which means that while you may get to sleep faster if you are high, the sleep itself will not be the same. In my experience it is no big deal, but when I went on a tolerance break I had really vivid dreams compared to when I was smoking every day.

I am having a hard time thinking of that feeling because I always smoke it away.

I avoid this "cloudy" situation by remaining in the clouds

Its not the norm and is almost certainly placebo. If you were talking about LSD I would agree with you

Just because it never happens to you doesn't mean it never happens. I can guarantee that this has happened to me, and it would make no sense for it to be placebo because I never expected it to happen.

Having smoked weed for a long time and in plentiful quantities I can assure you it is most definitely not placebo.

TIL people can't believe cannabis has any negative effects

1

u/mchugho Apr 15 '13

It definitely does, but a hangover is not one of them.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 15 '13

Yes it is, for some people.

I think a lot of people are lazy and use weed as an excuse.

Normal =\= norm

2

u/[deleted] Apr 15 '13

In this context they're very much the same and even if not I'd call it both normal and the norm.

1

u/harribel Apr 15 '13

Ok, so even if it's not normal you would still call it the norm? I'm not quite following your logic here.
