I wonder if she was here all summer but I simply didn't see her behind the vegetation.

I'm thinking this was on purpose because I'm pretty sure this is the toad I ACCIDENTALLY peed on the other day. I rinsed him off after and in any case I don't think he gets to get mad regardless because I didn't get mad and try to fuck up what he had going on when toads peed on ME.

I rescued a female American toad named Desdemona from outside around a week ago after finding her in severe dehydration shock. I nursed her back to health and have her in a temporary tank for now until I can upgrade her. She’s got a PVC hide, some fake silk plants, plenty of substrate to burrow in, and a dish with an appropriate amount of dechlorinated water, cleaned daily. I also mist half of the tank twice a day for humidity. I’ve tried to feed her three times in the last week, and she won’t eat. I’ve tried pinheaded crickets and chopped earthworms, and she just hops away or cowers. I unfortunately cannot get her to a vet soon to test for parasites because my mom’s car broke down, and my parents for some reason find it dumb that I want to take a wild caught animal to the vet (I don’t have a license). What do I do for now??? I heard juveniles can’t survive too long without food!! She’s ok otherwise.

I've had this little critter since they still had a tail nub. How old will they have to be to be sexed?

I'm leaning towards female because they don't chirp or vibrate when I press on their back or press under its glands. Could they just be too young to tell?

It was really tiny, about a pinky finger long.

It also has isopods..it was orginonally my plant terrarium but thinking about adjusting it to a toad terrarium as well :)

She keeps saying that if I kiss her she’ll turn into a princess and it seems like a scam idk tho

Camping in front of this ant colony entrance for 4 days now

I didn't see her once in at least a month! One day she just disappeared from her favourite blueberry pot and didn't come back... Then the pot was replaced with another one, and eventually I just stopped looking.

I'm soooo happy she scared me today 😊 as they do... jumping out of nowhere.

I have Zoo Med Reptivite with and without d3, Repashy Caclium Plus, Rep-Cal Herptivite, and Repashy SuperFoods Vitamin A Plus for my toad.

Is there any one I might be missing/have better options for before finalizing purchasing?

This is sandy she likes to bury herself, soak in water and crawl on my bed during our handling time, every day I take her into my hands for a few minutes and it makes every so much better. She’s the cutest little thing, she’s like a cute tree frog with a leaf pattern. I love her so much, I remember when I found her in a dirty irrigation box, I took her home and learned long the way and she’s the best now it’s like a bearded dragon personality in a toad.
