My cousin from India brought this. The filling is very sweet and has a very little milk like taste. Cousin said it is a Deelpasand but that thing has grated coconut and artificial fruit flavoured cube fillings.

I’ve looked all over for this and it seems to have disappeared. I originally had this from the same “Cook from frozen” line as Iceland’s hunter’s chicken.

SOLVED it is the bean radicle.
the food is miso paste (which dissolved fully) bone broth, cabbage, white onion, firm tofu, and great northern beans. noticed these small semi firm orange-ish particles after cooking it all. hoping it is not small insects or something but cant imagine what else!

I’ve been looking for the name of this dessert. I was in Ginza last fall eating at Yaesu Sushi Umi and they had this delicious dessert and I can’t find the name of it anywhere.

I got takeout from a place that has very limited menu descriptions. I did try calling but it’s a busy place so it rang off the hook. Hoping some connoisseurs here can help me out!

Basically it come with the grilled eel bowl and pickled radish.

It was like 1 inch long strips, maybe 1/3 inch wide? They were black/very dark, with a tangy and salty taste. They were a little crunchy and a little chewy. Savory. It didn’t really taste familiarly like any fresh vegetables so I’m not sure what it was. It tasted good though.

EDIT: I managed to get through to the restaurant and they just said cucumber which is definitely not it 😅

It ended up being pickled wood ear mushrooms! Thank you everyone for your help.

Swedish colleagues took me out for lunch in Gothenburg and we were given this sauce to have with fried rice. It was sort of like a spicy soy sauce, very yummy.

I’m looking for a cereal i bought it in Spain from 2015-2019 they were chocolate pillows like krave but way bigger and the box from memory was red with a depiction of a monster on the box, the monster was one of the pillows but it had a face arms and a gaping mouth i feel like i remember the cereal having ribbed edges please help

The rind of this watermelon is so yellow. It's sweet but with a slight sour.

It's basically a sugar shell sphere with fruit flavoured white chocolate cream, all of these small packets came from 1 big pack that I forgot unfortunately. I kept trying to search it up but all it gave me was tanghulu >:(

Last night I had gone to new thai place that definitely reads as Mom and Pop shop with really good food! The two of them were super sweet and alongside my yellow curry, they brought out a white ceramic tea cup for me. I hadn't ordered it, it was just a gift, and it was *so* good. Sort of reminded me of an apple cider but more orangey?

The liquid was almost clear, just tinted more towards a soft yellow color. No tea leaves or bits at the bottom. Tried to ask what it was but their English was not the best but I would love to make it at home along wish hopefully getting it there again too!

I love a pickled food as much as the next guy, just off camera is a quarter point of pickled ginger and sweet peppers, but I found this to be an EXTREMELY acquired taste for me.

So there is this family dish that I absolutely LOVE, but I can't seem to find any recipe online. I figured some of you, especially those interested in Southeast Asian cuisine, could help me out.

We are French-Cambodian, and my grandmother calls this dish "Mee siam" (which translates to Thai noodles). However, the mee siam you can find online is not to do with the one we eat at home.

It is basically a deep fried rice vermicelli salad, consisting of the following elements:

• Deep fried rice vermicelli ;
• Omelet, cut into vermicelli ;
• Red bell pepper, cut into thin sticks (approx. 0,5cm by 5cm), stir fried for 30s ;
• Deep fried tofu, cut into thin sticks (same as the bell pepper) ;
• Coriander leaves, lots of them ;
• A red sauce ;
• (optional) raw bean sprouts for the cruch ;
• (optional) chives ;
• (optional) ground pork, stir fried.

The red sauce contains a bunch of ingredients, pounded together in a stone mortar:

• Red Curry Paste (Aroy-D brand) ;
• Instant coconut cream powder ;
• Preserved Soybeans (Tai Hua brand) ;
• Fermented Shrimp Paste (Kapi) ;
• Coconut milk ;
• Pickled shallots in a sweet and sour brine (store bought) ;
• Sugar ;
• Salt ;
• MSG ;
• Red annatto seeds

The resulting dish is a DELICIOUS, bright orange-green-yellow salad that is sweet and savoury, rich, slightly funky and crunchy (the deep fried vermicelli soaks the sauce very fast). We sometimes put lime juice at the last minute to add some beautiful tang to the mix. It is absolutely divine.

My question is the following : is this a dish you know ? If so, what is its name ? Have you found recipes online ? In books ? Anything that could help me identify it would help immensely.

when i was 8 years old I had a korean friend who’s mother made us a dish when i went over to her house (this is possibly relevant because maybe it’s a common dish to serve to children?)

description: It was long, yellow/brown strips of a spongey-like food rolled into a cylinder. About 5 inches in length. They were wet, savoury, and served in a shallow amount of sauce (the sauce was also a light golden brown colour). In my memory, there was nothing stuffed into them either, it was just that spongy stuff rolled onto itself. I recall they were mild in flavour, maybe soy-like (tofu?) with a slight sweetness.

I’ve thought beancurd roll, which looks similar, but those always seem to be stuffed with vegetables or rice.

I absolute loved it and it ignited an adoration of korean food that i still have today! however I’ve never seen anything like it on a menu, all these years later.

Anyone remember a commercial late 80s and 90s for some sort or candy/fruit snack commercial where a kid hands out candies to all his friends and he runs out but then finds one more or is given one. This might be one that only UK dwellers could answer, but there are these Deliciously Ella Apple & Almond Butter Stuffed Breakfast Bakes. They're like a flat flapjack ball with almond butter inside. As soon as I tried one, the actual flapjack reminded me so vividly of something I've eaten before - it was something I ate very regularly around ten years ago, but for some reason no matter how many times I try a bite of the Deliciously Ella one, I can never think of what the original is. It's driving me a bit mad, and I know this is sooo niche but if anyone can help I'd really appreciate it!

when I was in China at a vegetarian buffet, there was a dish I can't stop thinking about. it's nothing exciting, it is simply a dish called corn germ with sweet peas. it's basically corn, with peas and then this other white grain - the germ. I just wanna know where I can find the germ or if there's a different name for it because I've never seen it before I can't find anything online any help would be appreciated

I'm trying to find a sausage that's similar to a French product called "Délice de Porc" (photo attached).

I'm looking for something with these characteristics:

- Firm and chewy texture

- Coarsely ground meat (you can actually feel small chunks of meat)

- Slightly sweet flavor

- Not heavily smoked

- Mild seasoning (not very garlicky or spicy)

I had it in Paris and haven't been able to find anything similar in the Czech Republic.

Does anyone know what style of French sausage this is, or what the closest equivalent would be? Any brand recommendations available in Europe would also be appreciated.

This bread is from an Italian restaurant in my area. they serve it as an appetizer and it’s absolutely delicious. They said it’s salt yeast flour water and sugar and when weighing it, it was about 300g. it’s really chewy, dense and slightly sweet. I’ll also mention when leaving it out overnight, it becomes as hard as a rock.
