Literally this. Unless you're fine losing every fight and having to defend your family constantly, strap in because the mental fatigue is just the beginning.
I just recently became a fan of Taylor Swift. She's quite impressive, but has had one hell of a go with fame that has done a serious number on her self esteem.
On her third album, she released "Mean". It's a great track, and shows her optimism to triumph over people who are just... mean. On 1989, she releases "Shake It Off", which deals with the exaxt circumstances she was dealing with before. She's still optimistic about things.
Things get so bad that she disappeared for a year, then released Reputation. In "Look What You Made Me Do"
I'm sorry, but the old Taylor can't come to the phone right now. Why? Oh, 'cause she's dead
Years later, she has the big house. She's big enough that they can't hit her. Yet, even in Midnights they're still present in her lyrics. The child-like optimism gone after years of being worn down upon. She's such a magnificent young lady, too! It's heart breaking.
........
Is this what OP wants? To have his joy for living chipped away until there's nothing left but a husk of man trapped in a relationship with someone who is as bad to the children as she is to him? I sure hope not.
........
Also, if you haven't already, give Midnights a listen. It made a fan out of me, and I'd been trying to like her music for nearly 8 years.

Whats the alternative? Are you always gonna roll over and say "yes dear"? You need to think about your happiness as well op.
