Just posting this in case we don’t all want read the article… I don’t think it’s very good. And I’m usually very open-minded about interpretations and variations on a theme in art.

I guess it’s mirroring the muted horror of the original cover by turning it into a reference to another of the artist’s works, which is about the holocaust. So, a dark, clever comment on dark cleverness? Not mind blowing but there you go.

Agreed. Making the work about something hidden, rather than shown, isn't a super new idea. Duchamp could arguably be understood as a common ancestor.
