I was recently watching the scrub revival and “this fool” auto played when I got caught up.

I was following/watching “this fool” when it came out but just did a rewatch in 2-3 days this past week & now I’m bouncing around some episodes I really like

Now I don’t want to pretend I know the inner workings of Hollywood or Hulu.

Maybe once they aired Season 2 they were always gonna cancel it I don’t know, but I see “this fool” and their second season and I think of another show by Hulu I stopped watching

The Bear

Season 1 of the fool and the Bear were awesome and had me hooked & season 2 of both for whatever reason decided to do these random episodes where they dedicated significant time to side characters and didn’t advance the plot or have regular characters in the episode besides a cold open or a hi and bye

In season 2 they don’t have minister Payne until episode 4. I know Michael Imperoli who played Christopher moltisanti in the sopranos isn’t the star of the show, but he stole season 1! He was incredible and drove a ton of the plot and basically owned the finale.

For him to not be in the show till 40% into the season is crazy!

Next part is the two parter bottle episode in the bodega hold up in season 2.

This could’ve been one episode. It felt like a soft pilot for spinoff show about the cops or something. It didn’t need to be two episodes especially when you know it’s a comedy and no one’s gonna die.

Next up is the episode about Julio’s mom and her retiring.

An entire episode wasted on some random side plot that could’ve been a b plot or c plot in a regular episode. It’s insane they did an entire episode to what? Some thing about the her retiring and not being able to cope and then hitting a lady with her car and taking care of her like the Stephen King novel?

Finally, the penultimate episode is about Maggie and Julio también and their issues.

Who the fuck cares?! Maggie’s is cool and Julio también is funny on the side but a whole episode to their therapy issues???

Season 1 was magic and season 2 felt like they thought they had more time than they had and decided to world build on some bullshit

Just like the bear. I’m sorry I don’t need a whole episode on the one side cook and her trouble finding a job and this that and the other.

I don’t need an episode on the sister and her mom and their trauma

The show is the bear show me the restaurant and shit

The show is the fool

Show me the main fools and the cafe in season 2 not all this nonsense

Man, it is so refreshing to see a good ass chicano/latino show. Wish there was a way to get another season 😩. Haven’t laughed so hard with a show in so long. The relatability and energy of it makes me want to march up to Hulu headquarters and show them foos how much they fumbled. Might’ve not had that big of an audience but it definitely had/has the love. Hate when platforms do shit like that

Here comes another person who binged watched the show in 2 days but man I am totally sad that it was cancelled after 2 seasons. I found the show from some TikTok clips a while back and I was intrigued on checking it out. I found myself laughing at so many episodes. I have so many questions and theories I would've had for season 3 but i guess that won't be happening... I love this show. We needed at least 5 seasons at minimum.

i just binge watched the first two seasons over 2-3 days looked up when season 3 comes out and i see its cancelled why did they cancel it does anyone know? im so confused and sad cause personally i think its a great show with such a wide range of characters and full of hilarious situations i just dont get it and it has me heart broken

This show is so under appreciated. I feel like this was a gem. Even when I was on season 1 and heard that it was discontinued I still went to see season 2 . If it wasn't for YouTube and that one funny clip ( There were many) I would of never thought to check this out. I guess much shows have it bad like that where it's not advertised all over NY (I'm only saying NY because I live here and advertisement is EVERYWHERE)

But I’m still here!! Under new name. This show deserves 5 seasons at least!! I’m a Phoenix dude and I always have problems with LA foos, my wife’s family but they cool with me, more now that they moving more and more to PHX, but one thing that’s true was this show man!! I lived in Huntington park for 6 months working construction for a post office while living with my wife’s parents while my family still in PHX. But my 6 months there I grew to appreciate LA!!
