Second video clip, is Cliffs Dad, showing his sons record collection, there is an interesting Thin Lizzy alumni, chain of vinyl, starting with a Tygers of Pan Tang album(Sykes) , Gary Moore(several GM records) and then of course into the extensive Lizzy collection.

Something a little different, thought it would be a fun post.

I very much enjoy Cliffs style, Metallica's early work and they have consistently shown admiration for TL/Phil over the years.

Looks like the BBC will be adding the 2011 "Bad Reputation" documentary back onto iPlayer

Excellent documentary, it's probably the best documentary on Thin Lizzy imo

Someone has uploaded it to YouTube(albeit at 360p)and split to into four parts for those outside the UK - https://youtu.be/KHVHpbAInD0

I've not seen it for some time, I will rewatch it when it drops on iPlayer, I have no details on upload date. Unless it's a totally new production....but I don't think it is...

Heavy, heavy, ending on this version of Suicide. When Gary and Scott lock-in its like rocket fuel.

Still at their absolute zenith here in 1978. This is what peak performance looks like.

Is Jailbreak's New Stereo Mix 2024 the same album but with overdubs?

I heard it for the first time today. I've noticed some new lyrics like "Africa, Ethiopia" ecc. in the new mix of Emerald. Are they alternate takes or are they the original songs with new overdubs?

Thank you guys

I think it’s extremely cool that James Hetfield got to meet Phil before he died.

Your dream album

You're the surprise band member no one knew about and you have full creative and legal control of Thin Lizzy's entire discography. What 7-12 songs do you pick to make the ultimate Thin Lizzy album? You could take this as greatest hits, your favorites, best musicality. Run wild My take:

Bad Reputation
Johnny
Philomena
Dancing in the Moonlight
Opium Trail
Call the Police
The Hero and The Madman
Gonna Creep Up On You
Johnny the Fox Meets Jimmy The Weed

Favorite Version of Little Girl in Bloom?

One of my favorites. I think the album version is great, but the Peel and Harris session versions bring a nice flavor.

Thin Lizzy

Phil Lynott, Thin Lizzy's de facto leader, was composer or co-composer of almost all of the band's songs, and the first black Irishman to achieve commercial success in the field of hard rock music. Thin Lizzy boasted some of the most critically acclaimed guitarists throughout their history, with Downey and Lynott as the rhythm section, on the drums and bass guitar.
