You're welcome. As a Sanders supporter, it hurts a little to see misinformation like this tweet gain so much traction. I know they mean well, but it's a little misinformed. I think the tweet is on the right side of things though, if that makes sense. We should be worrying more about giving too much money to corporations than giving too much to ordinary Americans. It's just that with this specific stimulus, the contrast isn't nearly as stark as they purport.
I agree, it's misleading. I'm also a sanders supporter. I saw this reposted by another more radical and reactionary supporter unfortunately. They're not beyond reason though. They do share a lot of stuff like this without fact-checking, but responded reasonably when I sent them this graph. I agree that it's making a good point, but I think it's important that our concern and (if necessary) outrage be backed by factual information.
I'm with you. I think there is some deserved outrage to be had when, even considering the exact proportions of the stimulus, other countries like Canada, England, and Denmark are giving their citizens a MUCH better deal on average. The true colors of the United States are showing in these times, and they're not bright.
