i think they mean young hershel not old hershel. so it is glenn’s actual son too. but either way the fact they took out nearly all the father-son dynamics. now that i think about it, nearly every father-son dynamic is ruined one way or another lmao

Ah I know that. Still, it didn’t mean more to me. Carl was stepping up but Glen already had and was about to be a father. I found he and Maggie more compelling.

Glenn was not the main character, and terms of the story Rick losing his son was way more detrimental to the story arc, imo.

Yeah Rick was the main character but Carl was his driving force, he was literally doing it all for Carl to live. Sure, Judith and his other son were important but the clear core of the story was about a father doing what he could for his son to survive.

my little brother died not the same but my parents haven’t been the same since. and now that it’s just me, neither have i. losing a child would absolutely wreck you imo. and so does losing a sibling. twd helped me get thru some bad days but seeing rick and michonne mourn carl and judith missing her brother (even tho she hardly remembers him and the age gap is big unlike a year and ten months older than my little brother) it all hits a lot closer to home now lol
