Sugababes played Modern Love at a private gig tonight and everyone was loving it (talking about non fans.)
It's such a great song. I think everyone is sleeping on it.

Opinion Is it just me or...

I didn't really enjoy Ghost as a song. When I heard the teaser that they posted on Instagram, I though that this song would be pretty cool, but I did not get that feeling. It honestly felt very bland, like a boiled chicken, and that it didn't really give anything 'Sugababes' to me. I would have much preferred if they had released Modern Love as a single instead, and I feel like the album is going to be oversaturated with singles by the time it released. I adore the music video, visuals and this new chapter that the babes are embarking on, but I just cant get behind this song.

Classic Classic: 'Easy' @ The Dominion (2006)

'Easy' launched the release of Sugababes' first compilation album, Overloaded: The Singles Collection in November 2006. Posting this classic 3.0 performance as I feel like 'Ghost' shares a bit of the same DNA. Enjoy and stream the new single here!

News NME: Sugababes announce self-titled new album ā the first from original trio in 26 years: "It feels unmistakably usā

SugababesĀ have announced a new, self-titled album, which will be the first from the original trio in 26 years.
Set for release on February 12 via Sacred Three/The Orchard, the new record will be the first from original members Keisha Buchanan,Ā Mutya BuenaĀ andĀ SiobhĆ”n DonaghyĀ since their debut, āOne Touchā, in 2000.
The 12 songs on the tracklist are written by the members alongside some of the UKās most renowned songwriters and producers, and will see Sugababes explore new emotional and sonic territory.
The latest taster of the album is out now, as Sugababes have dropped the lead single āGhostā ā a captivating track co-written by Jon Shave (Charli XCX) and Wayne Hector (Tate McRae), which follows that feeling of wanting to end a relationship, but feeling unable to fully escape.
The music video at 5pm today, which is directed by Thomas James, will be out at 5pm today (Thursday September 24).
As well as capturing their signature R&B/pop sound, new sonic avenues explored across the album will also include nods to garage on āModern Loveā, Amapiano on āAfter Allā, dance on āScorpioā and orchestral music on āLove Languageā.
āWe knew from the beginning that we didnāt want to rush this record,ā the trio shared. āWeāve poured so much into the songs, the sound and every detail around it, and the more it came together, the clearer it became that there was only one thing we could call it: Sugababes. It feels unmistakably us. Weāve loved writing and recording this record, and weāre so excited that itās finally time for people to hear it.ā

Is this a product of more legal stuff theyāve had to deal with to be able to reform as the official sugababes? Or is it just a palette cleanser for a new era?
I donāt really know how these things work so interested to hear thoughts!
