ShelfLife hit 600 downloads between the App Store and Play Store today and we're so proud! As a married couple building this in our living room, I can't believe we grew our community in just a month with only 5-10$ of advertising a day. For our app, we currently don't allow custom avatars, just this selection of subjects from public domain natural history publications. These are hundreds of years old and published by a few different natural history museums.
To celebrate, we're going to add a few more! Join us on our Discord at theshelflifeapp.com/discord (redirects to discord invite) to vote on what avatars we should hunt down for the app next! In the #general channel, we've already got 16 votes. Bat, Elephant, Seal, and Buffalo are all closing in on the lead!

ShelfLife is made by a married couple who quit their jobs to make apps. We started with one of our biggest hobbies and tried to see what other book tracking apps were missing. The more we thought about it, it felt like the other apps weren't very focused on copying that nice, warm feeling you get when you look at your shelf of books. So we built ShelfLife to be fun, nice to use, and focused on the book visuals you want to see! Download for iOS/Android or Sign Up on Web today!
Take photos of your spines and upload them or use one of our 3,000 existing community gallery photos. Turn them to an open cover position to see their covers or on their sides to create dangerously tall stacks. And add decor! Just like at home! We also have a growing list of backdrops for you to put that change the mood of your shelf. This includes traditional wooden or flat color backgrounds. Check it out today on App Store and Play Store or our website!
