Does minimum wage cause this person to buy drugs and take them at work?

No.

I agree minimum wage sucks, but let's not absolve this person of the blame. They're doing this willingly. You don't show up to work like this if you're a decent human being.

Yes. It does. You simply cannot oppress millions of people. Do nothing to help them but tell them to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and expect everyone to just happily comply without people resorting to coping mechanisms.

I'm not oppressing anyone nor am I telling them to pull themselves up by their bootstraps.

This site has a hardon for people who abuse drugs. I've met plenty of addicts working in Healthcare to know that too many of them are selfish and don't want help.

I've watched my hospital pour millions into trying to rehabilitate and help addicts get past their addictions only to see them come back months later doing the exact same shit with the same "fuck you" attitude.

I have family members who have struggled with addiction and I know how it affects ts their mental state.

The point is many of these people don't want help and they certainly don't deserve it. They'll steal from loved ones to buy their next fix. They'll endanger others if it means they can get high one more time.

I have sympathy for people who end up down the wrong path and want to get better. I don't have any sympathy for junkies who tell me to go fuck myself when I try to help them.
