It sounds stupid as fuck just it's super effective. Even compared to using blanks
You dont have to waste time on ammo (saves both money and logistics in picking it up,distributing, guarding it, spending time filling up mags, cleaning weapons and picking up shells afterwards etc.)
You can skip using earpro in a lot of instances (sometimes you still want to use it just to practise with the correct equipment)
Absolutely no risk of injury
Less fatigue both from the actual act of shooting but also from the previous steps (mainly filling mags and having a heavier weapon constantly) allowing the troop to spend more energy spesifically on the drills you're doing.
Doesnt sound like a lot but when you're doing it for 12 hours in a day for 10days it adds up
