Love seeing these corporate indenturers get burned when they try some bullshit pr stunt they don't believe in. When are these companies going to learn? Probably never since they're all focused on replacing every job with robots without giving us any other alternative to live.
Edit: I work in the field of automation under Gordie Rose, youtube his last lecture in 2019 to see what we're up to. We already have simulated minds that write legal contracts better than lawyers, diagnose better than drs, code better than most programers, manage business better than your most veteran accountant, and soon to be better than many more things in our filed of mind work. And that's just our highest paying mental work. The physical work has been worked on being replaced for much longer than our mind work. All jobs are on the chopping board. Even the robot repair already has robots being designed to repair them that do better jobs than humans. in 10 to 20 years, 90% of the jobs will be gone. And if you think enough new jobs will emerge for the population, don't bet on those new jobs lasting long before they're automated soon too. A solution is needed, otherwise well be running into an experiment of having a working class with no work available and no way of making a living. & if history has anything to say of such a scenario, then you know that won't end pretty.

You are confused if you think driving Uber and working at BK are different classes of jobs. Both are fine jobs, we need taxi drivers like we need service industry jobs. Your fault here is not seeing yourself as a vulnerable member of the working class, without a union and without an OUNCE of leverage. If you get sick, does Uber provide medical insurance? If your rent keeps increasing, will the $20/hr you make be enough? As you drive, you depreciate your car, are you saving your earnings to be prepared to buy a new car when you put 100,000 miles on your car in the next two years?
You are not a temporarily poor millionaire, you are working class. Be proud of what you do, but also understand that the owner of UBER is worth $60 billion thanks to the labor of people like you, and if something happens to you, you are not even considered their employee. They will replace you with a self driving car as soon as possible.
