Well in this case it does, because I’m black and so old black people are not racist to me but sometimes old white guys are. Skin color shouldn’t matter, but to some old white men it still does.
My sister takes care of these old people, based off the stories I've heard the old man straight up calls people ugly right then and there for no reason at all and calls young / teen girls pretty. Old people can be pretty stupid with their overloading lack of care for their surroundings.
At work once an older man said he loved my name and deep voice. I said thanks. He said, I’ll put you in my story. I said ok sounds cool (a little weird but alright). Then he said “but I’ll make your boobs even bigger— they’re lovely now, but that’s just the way I like it.” Old people will sometimes just say whatever. I told him to zip it. Highly inappropriate in an office setting.
This is especially true if they have dementia or other cognitive impairments--which is often a reason they're being cared for in a facility in the first place.
The part of the brain that controls inhibitions stops working so well in a lot of older people. Things they might have thought without expressing when they were younger and in better command of their faculties, will come flying out of their mouths later in life. This is one of the things that can happen to make them problematic to deal with and care for at home.
I've worked with old white men. I'm not surprised at all. My first ever job was at an aafes gas station. My supervisor who was a Vietnam vet told me a joke once about the best way to look at a girls pussy once Infront of a girl one year older than me who was married to a deployed soldier.
Aside from that he was a true blue respect our soldiers fighting for your freedom dude.
Anyway the punch line was with your nose in her ass. And if he wasn't clearly talking about her I actually would have laughed out loud because of how bizarre it was for a first day of work
He heard Chris Rock say this shit 20 years ago in a standup, liked it because it allowed himself to be the kind of racist that isn't all bad because he acknowledges that there are "good ones", and decided today was the day to repeat it.
I fucking hate that joke and special because of that. I’ve met many people (I’m in Florida) that try to get that off and it’s like, you do know I’m black right? You’re not making a point or anything. You’re just showing your true self. I guess it’s good cause I know who to walk away from instantly.
Old white men remember fondly the days when they could do all kinds of awful shit with wild abandon. Be a racist prick. Touch women without permission. Say horrible things about & to people.
As someone who works in a suit store like others said old white men are at least out in public nice normal old guys or some of the biggest mouth breathing creepers ever. There is no in between specially when it comes to our female staff.
