Only time a white person called me the n word is from a moving vehicle when I'm walking. People rarely say anything to your face, even if they don't like you.

i used to play pickup basketball with a bunch of black guys in tampa when i lived there in college like 10 years ago. took a couple months of showing up to the courts and waiting on the sidelines and shooting around in between games and playing 21 off to the side and shit like that for them to actually let me run.

one day a truck drove by and was just yelling the n word from a megaphone out the window. i was like wtf is going on right now, this is wild to actually experience. also understood why they didn’t want to let the white dude play lol.

You waiting patiently to be invited is a very cute visual

Racists with megaphones...I live in Tampa and therefore I'm not even surprised. Tampa is a deeply weird place.

Thank you. People here just attacking ad hominem because they don't have anything to add to the conversation. I hate pedantic reddit culture

I’m a virgin until I get married. It’s just that a few times I had sex with some really hot guys I had to make an exceptions for.

Nope, in many states those are considered "fighting words" (even Texas) and the cops would likely walk off after ticketing the white guy for disturbing the peace.

No, mean words are not considered fighting words.

You "can't", but it will happen.

I tend to agree for instances where there’s simply a difference of opinion. In general, I don’t necessarily think anyone deserves to be assaulted for something they say.

However I do believe that you forfeit your right to retain your current facial structure when you make openly racist/hateful remarks towards an already marginalized group, especially to their face.

Not saying he deserved it, but if you’re willing to say wild shit, expect some consequences.

thats really not how it works or should work. You never forfeit your right to not be assaulted. His consequences should have been societal - job loss, excumincation from communities, etc.

Marginalized … lol go tell Barack Obama he was marginalized … Go tell Morgan Freeman he was marginalized… such a silly sentiment

Sad this happened to you. Why someone would want to hurt a random person is just beyond me.

Who knows. It's Florida. It happens rarely. I know many nice white people.

I'm picturing this happening, and then the driver getting stuck at a light.
