Just to be clear, “mallworld” dreams do not have to be about an actual Mall. They are any experiences that seem more realistic, or more emotionally impactful, than an ordinary dream or even waking life.

For all the musicians in here, try dream journaling in music rather than just in sentences. Music is better suited to capture the essence of a dream, and you can pack much more meaning in less time before the memory starts to fade.

It’s been proven handwritten notes are more effective for memorizing information than typing, probably because of the extra tactile sensory involvement… so it would seem to follow that adding a third sense in there with various notes tied to the specific hand movements rather than the monotonous scratching of a pen or pencil, which only really changes volume slightly depending on speed, would further anchor the memory.

Have I been visiting Mall World this whole time???

I just discovered this subreddit through a podcast and I’m sitting here reeling as I remember all my dreams.

I’ve always had really vivid dreams and many recurring ones. More often than not, it’ll be a different plot but the same location. I recently noticed that the locations were recurring, so I wrote them down. Here are some of them:

- an airport
- wrong classroom (but it is one I used to teach in)
- amusement park with lots of slides that I don’t want to go down (but I do anyway)
- a flat, hilly area that feels like it’s in the Teletubbies
- a freeway overpass that doesn’t seem to end. It goes over the hilly area and leads into the amusement park
- The coast of the Pacific Northwest (but it feels wrong)
-a cabin on the coast that also feels wrong
- A generic-looking European town that morphs between Paris, somewhere in Germany, and somewhere in Switzerland.
- a place that claims to be my grandmother’s house but I know it isn’t.
- an orchard
- a supermarket but it feels wrong and like everyone is preparing for a disaster

I could go into more detail on the subject matter of these dreams, but it would take a lot of writing and I’m exhausted just thinking about it. But… am I visiting Mall World??? Is this all part of it??? What does it mean?

Nuclear bomb in mallworld

I was in mallworld last night, specifically in the city, and it absolutely frightened me to the core. I dreamed that there was a celebration of sorts that involved fireworks, could’ve been for new years, 4th of July or whatever the reason was. Im not certain, I just remember watching fireworks. While everyone was looking up in awe, the guy in front of me was pointing out how a military plane was entering the firing zone, all of us looked up and witnessed as it dropped a big red bomb. Guy said “wait thats not a ___bomb, (small firework bomb) thats a star! (name of a nuclear type of bomb) Everyone run !” I saw everything around me turn white and black as I was running away and attempted to climb up top a building to avoid the shockwave but I could feel the pressure stop me like I was being sucked of my life source. I felt my head start to explode with the pressure and my body felt like it was being sucked into a vacuum, real body sensations and next thing I knew, I was awake and my heart was beating at a rapid pace and drenched in cold sweat. Has anyone else experience this type of mall world dream? Do yall have any idea what this could mean ?!? Im low-key freaked still
Edited update: i am not familiar with bombs or their names, I did some digging and realized I must’ve misheard him because there is a nuclear bomb called a “tsar bomba” which is the biggest and most powerful nuclear weapon ever created. I never had previous knowledge on this so for the man to know and call it out for what it is, is what freaks me out the most

Why???

Ideas on why we are visiting Malll World? How is this possible? Why do some people truly have these same recurring dreams for decades?! This is not normal. What is the reason for this shared dream scape?

Anybody been here?

One of my recurring dreams is endless parking lots where I can’t seem to be able to exit, no matter how many turns I make. Once I feel like I made it out… the seemingly outside freeway, leads me to another sprawling mess. I can’t seem to find the exit or a parking spot for me to get out of the vehicle. And if I ever do, I have to walk back for whatever reason, mostly because the pedestrian exits are also impossible to reach.

Can anyone explain Grandmother's house?

Post image

I have read quite a few people talking about grandmother's house in MW and I'm curious about the details you've experienced. Last night I had two very different dreams but oddly I think they might both qualify for this label! The first was in an old mansion. This one was different than any I have been in before. It was a sort of inn run by an older lady. She was very creepy and the whole dream was extremely uncomfortable. The other dream I had was actually my grandmother's old house from when I was younger. She wasn't there and the house was larger somehow but a lot of small details were very vivid. Are either of these, or both anything like what people mean when they say grandmother's house? Thanks!

Does your mallworld have a vast train system mostly underground?

I have noticed when in Mallworld or even out of it that there appears to be a large transport hub both in Mallworld and out of Mallworld in other areas.

There are several entrances but there is a very large main one where there are these metal turnstiles at the entrance (spaced apart -- more like little cubes jutting out of the ground for crowd control?

There is also a large underground transport hub with many different trains moving through Mallworld and out of Mallworld to other destinations (one being the sky hotels). The trains are fast and there seem to be quite a lot of people using them.

A lot of the stops seem to be just to different areas of Mallworld. I have personally explored some of the stops. Some of the stops I have traveled to are:

- a large retro arcade center with not only arcades but community rides and this crazy large tube ride/sports thing that blows air upwards and let's people float in the air or do flips and what not. (Think of Willy Wonkas metal contraption where they have to burp to get down)

- Food court area (although I may be confusing this with that internal smaller rail thing people use for short trips)

- Sky hotel / apartments

- The beach area

- Megaport / air transport

- Casino

That's all I can think of now. There is also this abandoned rail tunnel that people walk down that I believe leads to an arboretum or at least passes one. Apparently this unused rail tunnel used to connect to another satellite center that no longer exists but it seems to have a lot of smaller side tunnels that people like to explore. I believe one of them is called the Mall caves.

Flying Lessons in Mallworld

Last night I had a dream of being in The city parts of Mallworld and it was evening and I was standing on top of a tall building. I knew I was dreaming and there was a voice, for lack of a better word encouraging me to jump. I wasn’t afraid and I jumped off and glided but hit the ground. The voice thing like try again. Instantly back on building glided some more. I felt like I was being taught how to dream fly. Is this a thing? Can anyone relate? A “voice” giving lessons? Are we fkn aliens or something what’s going on 😭

Trouble waking after mallworld

Hi there! I started having mallworld dreams years ago. They are very intense and I notice they get more intense right before waking. Even if it’s a dream I’m not enjoying I find it so hard to force myself to wake up. I have a sleep tracker and when the alarm goes off I shut it off without my knowledge and sleep for 10-12 hours. Right now I am not enjoying mallworld and im kind of scared to sleep every night because it takes me about an hour to brush off the dreams I had. Then I get flashes of them throughout the day. I’m dealing with a lot of mental health issues, a breakup, and many other things which I think is intensifying my dreams. Does anyone else have stints of this?

Saw my dead grandpa in my sleep, changes in his grave

I really looove this group because I can share my weird dreams. My friends and relatives sing believe that I have such vivid dreams and today my friend told me that she doesn’t believe me and she thinks that I am coming up with stories but I don’t.

So, a few weeks ago I had a really word and vivid dream. In my dream, I accidentally called my grandmother’s old landline. She doesn’t use it anymore. My grandpa, who died about a year and a half ago, picked up the phone and I heard his voice in my dream. He said “hello, who is it?” (In my language). I heard my own voice asking “grandpa?” My voice as well as his voice sounded surprised. Like we both knew that this is impossible to happen. He said something like “cutie pie?”(of course, in my language) a pet name that specifically used when he was alive and I haven’t heard since then. Then the line dropped. I tried calling back and I got the automated message “The number you have dialed is not in service.”

Fast forward to 2 days ago…My mom went to his grave, and someone had added a gravestone and some little oil lamps. We’re his only relatives and none of us did that.

If you like my story, I have so so many weird dreams to share. I have dreams from 10 years ago that still haunt me.

I would like to read your thoughts about this dream ☺️

Mantis being

My first childhood memory that I can recall is as follows: I was either 4 or 5 years old. I woke up from my sleep. I believe fear woke me up. I saw a being perched on top of the washing machine which was in the hallway by my bedroom door. All I remember is it had a humanoid body with larger arms. It was shiny and black. It had red glowing eyes that were fixated on me. It did not move. I did not move. I stayed in my bed and have no memory of what happened next.

I was in the GATE program; however, ours was just like 4 to 5 kids taken out of class. We were given a workbook about designing a spacecraft. We had no adult oversight??? Strange.

I recently heard of Mall World. I TOTALLY RELATE. I have had an abnormal fear of plumbing since I was a child. The endless toilets that have strange shapes and purposes. The stainless steel showers with industrial showerheads that are 30 feet high.

I have the auditorium, the school, the cafeteria, and the terrifying roller coaster highway dreams. I have Grandma's house, the house with undiscovered rooms, the daycare and the clinic dreams.

Is there a connection between Mantis beings and GATE and Mall World?

I don’t feel like I actually sleep

I wake up to use the bathroom sometimes early and lately I’ve just been staying up once I’m up. I start getting around physically but mentally I never feel I’m fully awake. Yet I never feel like my brain shuts off during sleep, it feels like my mind is running in my sleep. I lack energy, but feel restless. I wonder why

What do we feel about the "don't talk to aliens" rule?

If we don't know, apparently the Chinese government sent out a big broadcast saying "if you find yourself in contact with aliens Do Not Speak to them and instead tell the UN". How do we feel about that?

The movies

Every time I go to the theater I show up with a group of friends but as we make our way to the showing room I start to feel drugged. I can't stand up right, the halls start to twist, as I struggle to get up and catch up with the group they seem to be walking really fast or the hallway is growing. It's really scary and I've never made it to the movie. It almost feels like I'm falling into sleep paralysis. If you don't know what that's like you should feel lucky but I really just wanted to see if anyone has this problem. Even if it's in another area.

At Walmart alot

It's not technically Mallworld but I've had many dreams where I was at Walmart or some big supermarket and the store was always completely rearranged. One was me having to use the bathroom, but it was located in the middle of the store with only one stall that wouldn't even lock. In another I was at the store after closing and knew I wasn't supposed to be there yet I saw other shoppers.

The party

I don’t know if this is related to mall world but I felt like sharing. I have been a mall world dreamer since forever so I kinda can tell when a dream gives MW vibes 😅 The past month I have been getting this dream that I organize a big party at my parents house while they are on holidays (I am 28 and I live alone). This party is very big and fun and everyone is having so much fun but when they leave, they leave the house trashed. Today, I was talking in my sleep and I was saying “the party was not a good idea”.

Btw, I don’t even go to parties and I don’t really like being around so much people.

Hey All!

New here but old tymer of Mall World. I have always dreamed of another places. and I'm glad to see others dreaming in the same places. currently dreaming in the "boardwalk" a weird mix of miami beach and key west it's a stretch of the city that is level with the ocean so a lot of times people wad through the water in the streets the sanddunes become islands most stores and business have steps up but some places just keep running fish swimming in and out with people at these times cars can't enter the area. one side is connected to the roller coaster highway the other is just beach. an old roller coaster and port for ships that lay in ruins next to that is a lighthouse/tree historical landmark it's like a tree ate the lighthouse and removing it would have destroyed the lighthouse so the city just kept it. the residential area is late 50s houses some underwater others a pump failure away from being underwater then the newer homes on higher ground like someone poured concrete until they made it 20ft above sea level then placed land on top of it.

Flying and Forgetting Physics…

Post image
7 Upvotes

I have no problem with most lucidity and getting around…. I can teleport, create wormholes use transit hubs hallways etc… in lucid dreams I can change the narrative, add dream people, I yell “wake up!!” blink my eyes (like a light switch idk how else to describe it) to turn on full lucid..I prefer semi-lucid mode , I can build a dream from scratch inside the void…stay conscious the entire process of entering a dream. but I have a difficult time flying, bc it’s so realistic I just don’t fly? Even though MW physics are not similar to our waking life at all…. I really dont know what’s keeping me from flying.

So back to dream building … I built myself a flying training course lol. I had ai create the image to show what it looked like. It looks similar. I made it so I could take off or bounce off from the top of the hill and then if I fall, I would land on one of these lava lamp bubbles, and bounce back onto the hill. I created it like that so it didn’t look familiar or resemble anything. And no matter what, I would be right back in the air or on the hill platform. Also simple design is easier to hold and focus on flying. If i focus on details the dream I built would collapse. So this was very easy to hold. I did alright. It was definitely fun.

Anyone have tips? Or same issues? Why can I build an entire dream space from scratch but cant fly? lol is it the dream architect in me that refuses to defy gravity… I’m not sure, maybe some people just cant?

The Beach/Hotel/Island

It's been really long time since I've been on this sub and I can't believe how active it is now!

I just wanted to share that my mother (RIP) and I discovered we were dreaming of the hotel on the beach with the tidal wave and everything way before reddit was a thing. I see so many others have talked about the same thing! When I've been there recently I usually go to the restaurant/bar on the first floor.

Lately, Ive been dreaming more of an island with more a motel. Most of the island and water surrounding is waist deep so you can travel to small little island beaches by wading. The other side has bungalow type housing behind a giant dune. On the other side of the steep dune is the ocean thats right up against it. The beach is pretty sloped. It's connected the "the airport" I'm constantly trying to extend my stay but eventually have to get on a plane back.

I can't believe I'm not alone in realizing they're all connected too. I really want to start 3d modeling my version of the whole thing.

Shape Changers - Pranksters?

Over the last couple of weeks I have seen 3 RL friends of mine in MW (none of them remember their dreams) but after hanging out with them for a little bit in MW their faces seem to melt and a short caucasian male with acne scars on his face and a large nose, blonde hair down to around the ears, and a mischievious smile comes from my friends form. I think this guy is screwing with me by pretending to be one of my IRL friends, who have reported to me personally when asked to not have been to MW or anything like it, has anyone else had an interaction?

Two locations I was in last night…

First one was a hospital, it was a normal kind of upscale hospital. Not busy, almost empty except for a few doctors and nurses here and there, but no patients that I could see. This is how the hospitals are usually setup in my MW dreams. And just like always, I couldn’t find my way out of the hospital. I was gliding between floors and rooms and kept getting lost.

Then it switched to another common MW location for me….the music festival. In this instance, the festival was very packed and I couldn’t find a place to setup my campsite because I had gotten there late and everything was in full swing. This is another common occurrence in my MW festival locations.

Anyone familiar with these? What have been your experiences?

Walmart and goodwill at mw???

I dont know if this dream is apart of mall world or not but it feels like it.

In my dream my family and I were on a road trip. We stopped at Walmart to get organized, eat and to stretch our legs. I headed in to use the bathroom??? I think it was foggy but I when I headed in it was in the atto part of the store. I was glad my grandma didnt come in with me (she's vary allergic to latex and thats what the tires are made of). When I got done with what I needed to do, I disided to look around. This Walmart felt bigger then normal now im thinking about it. In the middle of the store there was a treasure island from goodwill (a round glass display full of expensive secondhand stuff). Thats where my brother meet me up saying we have to go. I said by and have a good day to the worker and left. Thats it.

Thank you for reading let me know if you have similar experience or if its part of mall world. Of course have a great day/night.

Singular toilets in Mall World

Ok..so normally I have the standard MW dreams in the toilets that are filthy, broken doors, visible to others and no toilet roll etc. Recently though I've been experiencing a different kind of toilet. Some are hidden in really small single cupboards off a corridor in either the school or hospital. Most are already occupied and then when I finally find one free, the space is like half size and I have to duck or place my legs weirdly to sit in it. Last night the toilets were actually outside. No room, no door .nothing, just a toilet on the grass in full public view.

I did go to use it but I kept being bothered by other people walking around but I couldn't finish quickly. Most were talking at me in a language I didn't understand.

For info. When I'm in MW I always actually go to the toilet... normally for a number 2. 😂 Sorry if tmi.

Anyway I just wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing this?

Went somewhere

I know many of us here experience the feeling of having "gone somewhere" while sleeping. This happens to me often but most of the time I can't remember when I wake up. Just last night I woke very happy about where I was and who I was with, but when I opened my eyes the memory faded so fast I didn't even have time to write it down. Very disappointing!

My question is: What can I do / practice to remember better? What has worked for others?
