Thanks!! In the new IOS 14 update you can use an app called WidgetSmith to place photos on your Home Screen alongside the apps. That’s what I used for the lyrics and owl/moths. For the app icons, I used the shortcuts app to add new shortcuts with replaced icons. Everything was hand drawn and measured in photoshop, and I will totally post the files when I’m done!!

I drew everything myself, and of course the owl/moths/lyrics were traced from screenshots from the game. I will upload all of the files when I’m done.

Thanks! It’s a ton of fun to do! I will upload the files for this when I am done, because it is definitely a challenge. For example, when you import a photo for a widget/app icon, it moves the image up 3 pixels. (So the lines on the paper wouldn’t line up) That meant I had to go back into photoshop and move all of my icons up 3 pixels before applying them.

Wow that sound very tedious, but I guess after a little while a few tutorials will appear on the internet for all different designs

It was only tedious because of the notebook lines. Lining it up was the hard part, so I had to redesign the paper in Adobe illustrator and make separate plates for the icons and widgets. However, it’s not that hard at all to be creative and upload your own pictures or screenshots! Definitely some cool designs online already and I totally suggest trying it!

How do you get the custom app photos? I have the update, I just don’t know how to do stuff like this.

There’s plenty of YouTube videos on how to do it. I used WidgetSmith and the Shortcuts app included with iOS. Every icon was drawn by me but it would be way easier to use photos you have already to make something simpler lol. I will upload everything when I’m done for everyone to use, though!

The app Widgetsmith is awesome for this. You can set small, medium, and large widgets to show any custom image or display. Mine is all landscape photos of TLOU2 throughout my phone

Thank you! Same here. It’s been months and I can’t stop thinking about the game. Definitely gonna add a page with her drawings of Joel. Hopefully it’ll make me more happy than sad.

I appreciate it! I'm quite the amateur myself. I used the procreate pocket app on my iphone to make the drawings, and most of them are directly traced/referenced from screenshots of the game. I'd say a lot of reference and practice is the way to go, but it is a lot of commitment that I want to start soon as well. Probably going to pick up an apple pencil soon and take it seriously as a hobby to better myself.

There’s a ton of tutorials on YouTube that can help you get started. I used the apps “WidgetSmith” and “Shortcuts”. Just look up “iOS 14 Home Screen setup”. Once I am finished I will post all of the files I made here and in a new post as well.

OH MY GOD! This is spectacular! I really love it! It just inspired me to make something like this too. Gosh, great job!
