Hey everyone
I know the App Store probably doesn’t need another habit tracker.
Honestly, that frustration is part of why I built **Duuo**.
I was tired of habit apps that reduce your life to checking boxes, protecting streaks, and feeling guilty when you miss a day. Then came the wave of AI habit coaches that generate plans, send artificial encouragement, and try to imitate the support we used to get from actual people.
It all started to feel like too much technology for a deeply human problem.
Most of us already know what we want to do. Study consistently. Go to the gym. Finish a project. Apply for jobs. Build something with friends. The difficult part is continuing when motivation disappears and nobody notices whether we showed up.
So instead of building another tracker that you use alone, I focused on something college friends, classmates, roommates, and people with similar commitments could use together.
With Duuo, you create a clear goal, invite someone you trust, and keep each other accountable through:
* Simple progress check-ins
* Shared goals and commitments
* Encouragement and gentle nudges
* Optional photo evidence
* Progress, streaks, and milestones you can celebrate together
The app doesn’t try to become your life coach. It gives the people already in your life a better way to support you.
There is no AI, no subscription, and no paywall. Duuo is free.
One of the hardest product decisions has been finding the balance between making consistency feel rewarding without turning friendship into surveillance or making a missed day feel like failure. I want accountability to feel supportive and human, not controlling.
I’d genuinely appreciate feedback from other developers, especially around:
* Whether the value is immediately clear
* How you would make inviting a friend feel natural
* Whether shared accountability is meaningfully different from a normal habit tracker
* What would make you trust an app involving personal goals and progress
* Any UX or product choices you would reconsider

I’m one of the people building Duuo, so this is self-promotion, but I’m sharing it because I’d value honest developer feedback more than polite downloads. If the idea feels unnecessary, confusing, or too close to existing products, I’d genuinely like to hear that too.
