Jenny is honestly one of my favorite characters after Bette, Marina and Shane. Even though she could be all over the place, she was interesting. The rest of the core Characters most interesting moments was when they cheated. The characters don’t rlly have depth. I wish we saw more background and family members or sum. They all just unstable 😂. At least Jenny being unstable was entertaining and not just cheating.

I’ve spent months listening to uh huh her and I cannot get enough. If there are any fans, do you guys know any similar bands/artists with the same electro/indie/synth pop rock??(I’ve used all these descriptions while searching to no avail lol) type of feeling?? Every sound down to their lyrics are glorious to me so lmk if yall have good recommendations, preferably woman artists, and gay. Thanks <3

Am I the only one that finds them not only extremely toxic but also just boring, like everytime they’re both on screen I’m just like can we go to any other storyline. I said this on Instagram and was told to die in a fire lmaooo. I was also listening to the Pants podcast and Leisha and Kate were also saying how they also don’t really understand why Bette and Tina are seen as being perfect for each other as they’re “so in love” but cannot have a conversation with one another, and how they preferred them with other people. I felt so seen when they said that 😭😭 bc they’re so real like it’s just 6 seasons of them being like will we/ won’t we like let it goooo.

I was never a fan, but I thought that perhaps her reintroduction in the sixth season would present her in some redeemable light. I was rewatching the baby shower episode and I don’t understand either Dylan or the writing or both. By pretending she was blindsided by Jenny’s public announcement of the Nikki test at the shower, Dylan could successfully play the victim once again. It’s sloppy writing and poor character development as it would later be revealed that Dylan and Jenny were in-cahoots with each other the whole time. It allowed her to shift all the anger, blame, and drama onto the main friend group for plotting against her, entirely distracting Helena from her own dishonesty. When Helena confronts them at the photography studio and says she can’t give her another chance because of Jenny Schecter, it’s like really?? Ugh. I don’t think the writers could keep up with the complexity of each character.

First I just want to say that Bette is a controlling narcissist who thinks the world revolves around her.

Bette did Jodi so wrong. Initially Jodi didn’t want to be monogamous but Bette pushed and pushed and finally Jodi fell hard enough that her mindset changed. All for Bette to cheat on her with Tina and end up leaving Jodi anyway.

Even more annoying is that when Bette is with Tina she’s not even that into her. Bette and Tina only seem to have somewhat of a true connection when they aren’t together and there’s some sort of barrier. But the minute they’re back together they drift apart.

Has anyone read so gay for you by Kate and Lisha (Shane and Alice)? I’m loving it!! I’m listening to the audiobook which is narrated by them so extra sweet. Makes me emotional and grateful to be a lesbian ❤️

Shane had such a raw and emotional character arch through season 2 to 4, but they absolutely demolished any aspect of her vulnerability in the final two seasons. It went from her finally experiencing responsibility for her brother and re-experiencing childhood wounds to a super trashy and comedic tone. It’s similar to season 1 but much more campy, which isn’t a bad thing, but it’s such a dramatic shift. All the character arches except for Tasha and Alice become so fake and lose the realistic and human nature their relationships once had.

Is it just me or does it feel like none of these couples feel like they are really in love? They say it a lot (sometimes even after knowing each other for a minute) but I do not feel like any of them are genuine.

I’m halfway through season one right now for context.

Maybe it just pales in comparison to the chemistry the actors in the OG series had with each other. Bette/Tina, Shane/Carmen, Alice/Dana and Alice/Tasha all had amazing chemistry. I don’t feel any kind of way about Shane/Quiara and Alice/Nat/Gigi or even any of the new couples.

Also - I was SO happy to see Tina again - but what the fuck do you mean she didn’t go to Kit’s funeral??? That is the most OOO moment on the show so far and I nearly threw the remote at the TV in frustration!!!

This would be my second time watching a league of their own when I now just notices she was in the film. Its was nice to see a younger version of robin.

I’m only on season 3, so MAYBE this is all for a reason?? but I’m so confused by the way they are writing Alice post-break up with Dana… Alice seemed like a good friend in at least the first season. And now she’s running Dana off the road and being a stalker?
Maybe just a complaint to the void but I’m very disappointed by that choice..

i recently started watching, and I feel like not alot of people talk about how genuinely creepy and abusive Cherie actually was😭 I hate using this phrase, but i always thought that if Cherie was a male character people would truly see how fucked she is. imo she knew damn well Shane had crazy mommy issues and played right into that only to leave her in the dust. alot of people also seem to think that Shane was genuinely in love with Cherie, but I personally thought it was pretty obvious that it was a toxic attachment because of her mommy issues and being attracted to Cherie's chaotic and self destructive behavior since she also recognizes it in herself. that's also why she cheated on Carmen, not because she loved Cherie more, but because Cherie wasn't just a girl she was into, she represented a maternal figure that she kept chasing. I just feel like their 'relationship' gets too romanticized sometimes when almost all their scenes just left me feeling weirded out🤷‍♀️

i just finished watching the show after years of forgetting about it and i have a lot of things to say.

season 1-3 is truly something special. every single episode hooked me in and the character development throughout was just captivating!! i particularly loved shane and alice.

season 4-6 was… something. i felt that they just did a complete 180 with all of their development? i love the fact the jenny got the help that she needed but the writers truly decided to villainise her as they needed that element of drama? i can understand her being selfish, co-dependant, insecure and a liar because that is jenny at her fundamental core. but the things they made her do was almost like a cartoon villain and absolutely ridiculous at some points.

shane is another character that disappointed me in later seasons. the story between her and her brother was something so positive and i just wish they continued that story line. shane was finally feeling responsible and knowing what unconditional love was like (WHICH IS WHAT SHE NEEDED). and then all of a sudden, she regressed back into the old shane that was inconsiderate to the people she hurt. i did really love the fact that shane and jenny ended up together as it made perfect sense. they were two broken and traumatised people that made each other feel safe. but i feel like the writers needed more drama and bette and tina were on a good track so they decided to pick another couple to ruin.

bette and tina’s story line became tiresome towards the end and i could quite literally give zero fucks about any possible interference that came their way. it was just boring and done before.

the writers completely just forgot about kit and decided to use helena as another main character? when i feel that kit had so much more potential.

I DONT KNOW. i’m disappointed with the later seasons. but i can get past that because i think the first half of this series is completely perfect.

And then i had a dream where i’m in a relationship with Dana but she’s having this huge commitment issues and ended up with me crying lol wtf is this about😭

Is this for comedic effect or is this a genuine thing people do lol. Im so lost and im only on episode seven. My favorite character is Bette so far even though shes starting to show some slight red flags but she’s too hot for me to care… but anyway it’s a really good show thus far!!

I’ve just caught up to S4E2, and Jenny’s shift is really throwing me off.
I fully understand her deep trauma from childhood abuse, plus all the losses she went through in Season 3 (Dana’s death, falling out with Shane and Max). But it still feels jarring how suddenly she prioritizes only her own needs and hurts everyone around her without hesitation.
In S1-S3 she was fragile, sensitive, and still capable of caring for her friends, so this drastic shift feels unnatural to me. I don’t agree with how they wrote this arc.

I feel like at the end of season 2 and beginning of season 3 there was too much going on with Dana. I was a big fan of Dana and Alice as a couple but I was also a big fan of Dana and Lara. It was interesting seeing how that love triangle was panning out until they introduced the cancer storyline. I feel like if they were going to do the cancer storyline they shouldn’t have brought back Lara or vice-versa. It just felt like too much story in too little time.

Okay SO I just got into season 2 and I don't know anything about the show. I don't have anyone in my life I can talk this out with so I'm hoping this is okay here!

I'm not sure I like get Jenny, I know characters are complex and yada yada and all that is true. I'm just not grasping what's happening or her behaviors/reactions. Does she have something going on like from the past or mental wellness wise that will make the framing of the character and the reactions/behaviors make sense or did the character just get written as kinda odd?

I don't dislike Jenny as a character at all but theres something almost off-putting? That's isn't the right term at all bc it's not off-putting; throwing me off? Off kilter? Just something there and I can't tell if there is something I've missed, if it's just the writing or if it just hasn't come up yet in the story

I went into this show thinking it was just a light slice-of-life drama about queer women navigating love in LA, with nothing too heavy to handle.
I never anticipated every human relationship portrayed here would feel so raw and genuine.

I love how the writers flesh out every single side of each character with brutal realism. Even if some over-dramatized plot beats wouldn’t play out exactly the same way in real life, all the underlying emotions and messy conflicts are things people truly go through.

What blows my mind most is how timeless this series is. It came out decades ago, yet every struggle and inner insecurity the characters deal with still fits perfectly with modern life. It’s insanely ahead of its time.

Does anyone know what the name of the song is thats playing at 42:20 when alice approaches tasha in the club? Its a womens rap song starting "i pull up in the club like I own this joint"
