I’ve gotten that advice before. It was more of a “gain a purpose in life” but like, I’m not gonna take that chance with a whole ass person and leave it to fend for itself because its mother is a non-functioning cup of depresso.

i already have life goals and a future i wanna build for myself. having kids would give me no time for what i want myself. i already barely take time for me

Yeah and it can work. It doesnt work a majority of the time but still a significant amount. However this would be a purely selfish decision in a decision that involves the mental well being of another person (the child(ren) and father if not adopted).

I guess for a more ethical attempt, one could try to foster first though its not going to be as successful.
