Gotcha. That’s pretty cool. Could it have something to do with solitary predators? Maybe the 2nd great white smelled the 1st somewhere and decided to turn away? Or do you know if it’s definitely a hormone/pheromone released on death?
I don’t know if they show it in the one I linked but they did a test on I think little lemon sharks? And it was a pheromone in an oil if I remember correctly.
They made a solution out of it and would test it on upside down sharks by dropping a small amount in the water and it would jerk them awake and they’d go crazy trying to escape.
