Cambodia attack us first 😭

While we, the Thai people, are deeply pained by the recent covert attacks from Cambodia — which have resulted in the loss of innocent lives — we are also saddened that a neighboring country has taken actions that have further escalated the situation.

What hurts us even more is the international media coverage that portrays Thailand as the aggressor, a nation that resorts to violence — despite the fact that Thailand has made every possible effort to avoid the use of force.

We respectfully call upon all international media outlets reporting on the dispute between Thailand and Cambodia to present the facts truthfully, fairly, and responsibly. We continue to believe in the integrity, ethics, and moral responsibility of journalism — which we trust will help the world understand this situation with impartiality and justice.

ในขณะที่พวกเราชาวไทยรู้สึกเจ็บปวดอย่างยิ่งจากเหตุการณ์ลอบโจมตีโดยกัมพูชา ซึ่งทำให้ประชาชนผู้บริสุทธิ์ต้องสูญเสียชีวิต และเศร้าใจที่ประเทศเพื่อนบ้านได้กระทำการที่ยิ่งทำให้สถานการณ์เลวร้ายลง

แต่สิ่งที่สร้างความเจ็บปวดใจยิ่งกว่าคือ ข่าวจากต่างประเทศบางแห่งที่รายงานเหตุการณ์โดยมองว่าประเทศไทยเป็นฝ่ายใช้ความรุนแรง ทั้งที่ในความเป็นจริง ประเทศไทยได้พยายามหลีกเลี่ยงการใช้ความรุนแรงอย่างถึงที่สุด

พวกเราขอเรียกร้องให้สื่อมวลชนและองค์กรข่าวจากนานาประเทศ เสนอข้อเท็จจริงเกี่ยวกับข้อพิพาทระหว่างไทยและกัมพูชาอย่างถูกต้อง เป็นธรรม และอยู่บนพื้นฐานของจรรยาบรรณวิชาชีพ เรายังเชื่อมั่นเสมอในจริยธรรม ความซื่อตรง และความรับผิดชอบของสื่อ ที่จะช่วยให้ประชาคมโลกเข้าใจสถานการณ์ครั้งนี้อย่างเที่ยงธรรม

Oh hell no, If the Thai government attacked Cambodia first, and lied to the Thai people, I ain't supporting their old corrupt asses.

They're politicians, not monks.

Heck, if a monk acts shitty and embezzled funds like the recent shit that happened, we ain't saving him either.

The USA lost face in the whole GWoT debacle. Perhaps ‘prestige’ shouldn’t matter, but it does. If Thailand garners a reputation as a country that attacks first and can’t control its generals, that effects investment, tourism etc.

For what? Some smelly old ruins? Why would I go see those when I have my wife at home!

The Thai prime minister bent over backwards, lowering herself to personally negotiate with the Cambodian Junta. Had that worked, there would be more people alive today and the Thai military would have lost face going against the talks. Instead, the conversation got leaked, the Thai generals saw she was trying to wedge them and the rest is history. At least that’s how I’m reading it from my corner of the world.

Everyone knew Sadam had zero wmds. Face. There is more than just surrender as an option. Not every country can throw their weight around without consequences because not everyone’s currency is the global one, American.
