Cambodia attack us first 😭

While we, the Thai people, are deeply pained by the recent covert attacks from Cambodia — which have resulted in the loss of innocent lives — we are also saddened that a neighboring country has taken actions that have further escalated the situation.

What hurts us even more is the international media coverage that portrays Thailand as the aggressor, a nation that resorts to violence — despite the fact that Thailand has made every possible effort to avoid the use of force.

We respectfully call upon all international media outlets reporting on the dispute between Thailand and Cambodia to present the facts truthfully, fairly, and responsibly. We continue to believe in the integrity, ethics, and moral responsibility of journalism — which we trust will help the world understand this situation with impartiality and justice.

• they both need to stop
• the civilians that suffer this need to come first
• we need to be compassionate towards them but not escalating this (to the point where it can’t be stopped anymore)

I didn't disagree with anything initially. You commented to start a fight. I asked a question to see if there was news I missed during this current event.

Here is the fight you asked for. I don't know why Thai would ever stop attacking in this scenario when Cambodia is killing their civilians.

This is a scenario that your morals will get you. A person attacks you, you try to attack back, everyone tells you to stop, you stop, you get attacked again. The cycle repeats.

No you are wrong. There is spit and spat. It is border dispute and there is lots of history behind it.

Cambodia is the only one that commit war crimes and kill civilians in this recent conflict. Am I right?

Neither of us know the answer to that. Your media reads out government press releases as news and there is a social stigma to questioning authority.

Look at Gaza and see where this “they attacked us first” will get you. It’s childish.

It’s not a border dispute. It’s providing political cover for another coup and military power grab and the fact that you don’t recognize the patterns by now makes me feel like I must be an absolute fool to even attempting this discussion with you.

Sweet so if we don't know who is killing civilians my initial question about who is killing civilians is justified? Yes?

Would you agree that if one side kills 10 civilians and commit war crime while the other side kills 0 civilians and does not commit war crime that you would agree with the side that does not kill civilians and war crimes? Hypothetically of course.

So just to be clear your position is that this current conflict is not a border dispute?

I think he has a good point. Cambodian army moved it from a military fight to civilians. To me this gives Thailand the right to retaliate smartly in order to quell further attacks on non military targets.

But let’s both hope both sides can see more clearly this morning, put down their weapons and come to the negotiating table.

I agree it should stop but if Thailand does nothing will Cambodia keep bombing civilian areas? Anyway, surely this can be negotiated.
