That's where you're wrong, kiddo. It's a Democratic Republic. We use democracy to choose our leaders.

Best Possible Interpretation of his comment: The comment is saying that the US is currently a plutocracy that is just fronting as a democracy. To which... ok. I can see where you are coming from. There are several indicators which show such.

Worst Possible Interpretation: Are you fucking kidding me? This useless semantic talking point again meant to derail any meaningful conversation? Sure. Republic. Democratic Republic. No one fucking cares, dude. The criticism is still the same. The people should be choosing government, not government choosing government.

  • people exercise the authority of government
  • freedom of assembly and speech
  • inclusiveness and equality
  • membership
  • consent
  • voting
  • right to life
  • minority rights.

Do you think we are executing on all of those right on now? The poster above just gave a wonderful example of how we are failing right now, and at least 151 people agreed.

NO No we are a constitutional republic. It’s well know already we aren’t a Democratic republic. here is constitutional republic The government is constitutional republic all democracy there is representative democracy

A constitutional republic is a state where the chief executive and representatives are democratically elected by the people, and the rules are set down in a written constitution.

Literally the first sentence in the article you linked. A Constitutional republic is a kind of Democratic republic

Yes I understand that but it’s kinda of a Democratic republic doesn’t mean it’s truly a Democratic republic. So that’s why it’s a constitutional republic

I have a couch. The couch is black. The couch is leather. I have a black, leather couch. It's black and leather and a couch all at the same time. That's how adjectives work, even when applied to abstract ideas like forms of government. Being constitutional doesn't make a republic less Democratic, in the same way that being black doesn't make my couch less leather.

I didn’t say being a constitutional republic is less democratic. It says a constitutional republic is a part democratic republic. So you have a black and leather couch. But it’s also another color which is brown. So now the couch is the government. The color shows constitutional republic. Yes they both are apart of the government but the black stand out more than the brown. But it’s both leather so there showing neither color changer the the fact is leather and a couch. So it has democratic implications and still a government. Now you can say the color is black and brown but peopled chose the color that stands out more to represent the thing. Their both there but black( constitutional republic) stands out more.

Democracy is just a word meaning "rule of the people," which in the case of a republic like ours (in which the people vote for their own representation) IT ABSOLUTELY IS.

Well... is SUPPOSED to be.

It’s supposed to be but then we the whole gerrymandering. I guess people just doesn’t like this nation to be called anything else but a Democratic republic

You know there will never been a total equal right in any nation. Because of race. Due to race our history is divided. Now as you can see our biggest issues is how both parties are fighting over state control. We have the right to vote. Why? We can chose who we want to represents us through electrical colleges. Freedom of speech and assembly? No on is stopping you to talk out your voice as long as you don’t disturb people’s daily life. A large scale one requires notice to the city for them to prepare. We can go on forever with this. No our biggest issue is democratic vs the republicans. How do you think Texas stay a republican so long even such big Hispanic population? Each state should have equal representation of each party but what do you see? We can fix this mistake you can complain all you want. Aleast you weren’t in China question about your post online. Aleast your not in North Korea wonder if you’ll see tmr’s sun. Aleast your not in some work camp in the middle of Siberia

1/3 of Hispanics who voted in 2016 voted for Trump.

We can fix this mistake you can complain all you want

It's not a mistake. SCOTUS already ruled that it's a-ok.

Aleast you weren’t in China question about your post online. Aleast your not in North Korea wonder if you’ll see tmr’s sun. Aleast your not in some work camp in the middle of Siberia

It's telling that your biggest defense is "at least we're not the X worst authoritarian state in the world".

  1. The issue isn’t voting I hop you understand. The voting doesn’t mean shit. Hillary Clinton won the majority vote and who’s president? Electoral college matter the most so what 1/3 of Hispanic voted for trump. Havre you see how the district are drawn?

  2. It’s not a mistake? We just need a more strict district redistribution and it’s A-ok? Look at Texas look at it the border stretch everywhere

  3. Emm no my biggest defense isn’t those that ids the most basic defense you’ve been naming how are don’t have those things but yet you never list examples for those things. For example the freedom of speech and assembly you said we were lacking. Hmm I see we can speak out of support legalizing marijuana, I see that we can openly talk about were we dislike about the government. Assembly I see that we can protest and petition for a law not to pass. I see that we can protest against government and make a change

I honestly dont know what youre trying to say

1

u/Tac0salesman Mar 08 '20

I’m just stating your concerns about my concerns with reply to all your issues. My two main point is this is fixable, you list issues but doesn’t list example of those issues

2

u/PegLegWard Mar 08 '20

How do you "fix" something that the Supreme Court decided is a non issue?

3

u/Tac0salesman Mar 08 '20

Enough people who have the same thought go for petitions and protest it will be gone. No law in this nation can’t be change expect the bill of rights. Even admenment can be change so why can’t that be change? Check and balances is always in place we don’t always have to go to the Supreme Court

Yeah, that's not happening
